He isn't really a DJ - or at least wasn't really a "DJ" until his productions blew up.

Andy Moor pt. 2.

lol. deadmau5 himself said he's not a DJ. (feel free to ask him yourself as he's a TA)
I guess he's not a DJ in the 'traditional' sense that we'd think an EDM DJ is but yes. what he does with his aptop and mixer is awesome live

That doesn't change the fact that he only recently began performing live. Fuck m8, he had even told several promoters in Chicago inintially that he didn't DJ - and now a year later he's booked a gig at Crobar.

Learn to comprehend what you read before you post, though your track record would seem to indicate you're utterly incapable of such practice.

Deadmau5 > Andy Moor, imo. From a live performance POV anyway.

Kinda unfair comparison as both produce different styles of music.

god damn you and your fast edit.

Saw both Andy Moor and Deadmau5 live and I'd say both kick ass in their own way.

Deadmau5 sun night was amazing just as I've expected, but Andy Moor's set early in May is still one of my fav parties this yr so far.

Make no mistake, the only reason I make the Andy Moor comparison is because they're both producers who had a hit (or 5) and then entered the realm of live performance.

I've never seen or heard Deadmau5 live, but it wouldn't take much for him to beat Andy Moor's efforts.

Have you seen Andy Moor live before?

Yes, and I've heard more than one live set from him - and they were all atrocious. Mixing was either spotty (particularly the phrasing) or safe, and the programming made little to no sense, which is odd considering how bland the music he played was - anything should have sounded good, but it just didn't.

I agree about the technical part of Moor's skills but I thought his programming and tracklist was good, if you expected Moor's type of music

I dunno, just expect more from Moor...

get it? get it?

You're right though, different styles different genres. Not a fair comparison. It's all subjective anyhow. I do agree with DJ Rob Turner with respect to technical skills though. Now Moor as a producer... wicked.

Right to sum up..

I never asked if he was a DJ or not. So why you have filled a page arguing about it is a bit, well tangent like to say the least..

I am fully aware of the quipment he uses when playing live sets, what I would like is some examples of those said live sets, so can anyone help with that...

Well it's a tough decision:

Only releasing and producing tracks and making hardly any money

or

Performing, travelling (worldwide), nice performing fee, crazy audiences and getting all the girls.

Did I ever claim that it was?

I guess I'm just trying to figure out what your point is, but if it's just playing "Captain Obvious," I guess that's ok too.

well, im a producer first and formost... as you said. but, i take the stems of all my productions and lock them up in live so that at least a "dj gig", if you will, is even doable.... because like i said... im not really interested in being a DJ, moreso as i am a live performer../. and as i grow / expand outwards with the gigging thing, im sure my setup and methods will definatley be improved over the years to come

I feel enlightened.

But I knew that

and thanks DuBam. I see where hes going with that statement. When I watched him on Stickam last week he wasn't really mixing, more like playing with samples than anything.

Good stuff.
