I Really Hope This Guy Get The Death Penalty

Why hasn't Michael Devlin been sent to Guantanamo Bay?

sorry, but how is this in any way political or of note to the PDD?
Well, this is the only Current Events section on TA.
Not political though I did add the Guantanamo part
I don't think we need the death penalty. I'm quite sure his fellow inmates will deal with him justly. People who fuck with kids don't last very long in prison.

How is the death penalty really even punishment again?
Tax payers put up a bunch of money (far more than it would cost to imprison him in federal pound me in the ass prison) so this guy can get the easy way out? No thanks.

He's only guilty of loving too much.
Actually, I am pretty sure that life imprisonment is cheaper than the death penalty as it is currently implemented.

| Radelet said the cost of executing a prisoner in Florida averages about $3.2 million, mostly in trial costs. Keeping that same person in prison for life costs only about $600,000, and the millions of dollars spent on executing prisoners could be put to much better use, he said. |

How the hell does that work?
Take a gun. Point it at their head. Pull the trigger. You're down however much a single bullet costs.

And furthermore, what is necessarily wrong with cruel & unusual punishment? Fuck coddling these assholes - they're in prison, and you'd have a hard time convincing me they somehow have the same rights as me, and should be treated as such. |
also for some reason, i was under the impression that paying for one prisnor's life sentence was more costly than executing them.
apparently, that's not the case. my mistake.
No, it's wrong because knee-jerk, shallow, wannabe civil-liberties attorney's can use half-truths and loopholes to argue that these practices are "cruel."
I swear to God I hate the bullshit, leftist, civil liberties pricks every bit as much as I hate conservative Christians.
Edit: And Will, it costs far more to execute someone almost solely because of the legal costs of the appeals process.
this is why buttsekes is illegal, it added 69 more criminal charges against the dude. and he won't get shanked in prison, they keep these sexual deviants seperate from the other prisoners.
it will be interesting to see how the kid who was there for 4 years reacts to the outside life.
Give this asshole the firing squad. Except everyone aim for the legs and arms. This way he suffers more...
Slowly he will bleed to death.

"69 counts of forced sodomy"
how, exactly, did they figure this one out. did the kid keep a journal of it or something?

It happened again..."

| Originally posted by idoru You'd think so, huh? That would easily be defined as "cruel and unusual" seeing as how the Supreme Court is currently re-evaluating the process behind lethal injection simply because the person who administers the injection is typically not a "trained doctor" and people somehow find that "cruel and unusual." |
don't understand why cruelty should come into play for murderers and rapists. but whatever.
