Last.fm - Roll Call
I know there's a group called trancEaddicts there (and another one called TranceAddict which is not quite as popular
) but it's sometimes difficult to know who really is a TA and who just listens to trance.
So, let this thread continue as a roll call and post your profile!

Last.fm is a service that keeps track of what music you listen to, and then produces a large number of features personalised to you. You can use Last.fm to listen to music, find out about artists you may like, other people with similar music taste, gigs in your local area, charts and quilts for your personal site, as well as much more. |
Come on, guys, I can't use the search engine because of the goddamn dot

Originally posted by Mr.Mystery No you don't. It's just down to the artist/label whether they allow you to stream the whole track or the 30 sec clip.

Originally posted by Lira Sure, you're talking about those (rather rare) full tracks, aren't you? All I'm saying is that you can listen to all songs you want in their entirety if you download the software and play them using it. I've never had to listen to 30 second clips in my playlist...

Originally posted by Lira Do you really listen to all tracks using nothing but the site?

Originally posted by Mr.Mystery I'm pretty sure there's an answer in my previous post somewhere...

Originally posted by Lira I can read, Nik, but what I find weird is... how the hell can Last.FM recommend you a track before it knows what your musical taste is? Can you just label a few tracks as "loved" and then ask for recommendations?

Originally posted by Mr.Mystery Erm... I have a plugin for WinAmp that logs all my played tracks to Last.Fm and it recommends me tracks based on that data.

i think thats it
idk
also, i rarely, if ever, use it for the radio, it just took the place of audioscrobbler :/
edit: i really don't know how it gets some of its data. i never leave music playing overnight, and somehow an album i listened to half of two months ago and haven't touched since is my #27 artist overall. wtf?!
also LOL bright eyes is #1
i mean...their new album is good, but that's from when i left town for a weekend with that album's playlist on repeat

Originally posted by Lira It nevar forgets. So, if you listened to it two months ago, it counts. If you listened to something six months ago, it still counts. God listened to Busta Rhymes just before the Big Bang... and, yup, it's still there
