Fighting to stay Awake at the Desk

i keep noddin off at my desk.

Even ASOT isn't helping the cause

Posted by [mart] on Oct-11-2007 19:36:

Are you sure ASOT isn't contributing to the problem?

Posted by Frenchie on Oct-11-2007 19:36:

Cold water, iced cold water. Stick a bottle of water in the freezer and let it sit for about 2-3 hours long enough for it to ice up a little bit inside. Crunch sides to break up the ice that formed on the bottle and drink up. ASOT will only make it worse.

I had that same experience this morning only my desk is in my car.

there's a guy in my department who i catch napping at least twice a week. i don't understand how he gets away with it - his desk is right near the breakroom door and people are walking by his desk all the time.

i remember the first time i caught him, i went and told my coworker and we giggled so hard. now it's just routine... "oh yeah, S is sleeping again, he must've had a BIG night!"

nyquil and benadryl can help you out

What's your diet like?

Posted by camsr on Oct-11-2007 21:22:

caffeine. oldie but goodie.

Posted by mar46017 on Oct-12-2007 02:05:

Your probably not sleeping well. Try to get 8-9 hours of sleep. Try taking a sleeping pill or anti-anxiety pill (like Xanax) the night before. But sleeping pill usually make you feel dizzy in the morning.

In the morning you could try Caffeine (coffee or red bull) or take a ADD pill. (like adderol and ritilin)

Pills aren't the best way to go since you become dependent on them. The best idea is to fix your sleep schedule. Try to adding exercise to your daily routine or showering before bedtime.

Maybe your desk job is just really boring...maybe a change in your job/profession/industry can help.

10mg of Aderall should do the trick..

I find I can function even on 4-5 hours of sleep.

Haha, stupid Americans with their "take pills!" solutions. How about getting proper sleep, exercise, and eating right instead?

You Canadians banned adderal since a child died on it. Its sad but drugs are one of the reasons life expectancy is higher.
