Bedrock Records: Taking A Break?
No new releases on Bedrock in well over a year. Did I miss the memo? What's going on?
Greg Downey's mix of "Heaven Scent" just got released a few weeks go and Guy J's Save Me/Night Loss EP got released today.

bedrock really needs to come back and release some huge progressive house tunes like they used to, the genre needs a new resurrection
gone were the days of helley and farley - rising sun (bedrock remix)
Everything is about minimal and electro these days
Between touring and other commitments, Digweed didnt have time to maintain the label, so put it on hold for a while whilst he decided what to do with it.
I predict that those of you expecting classic progressive this time around will be disappointed though.
Hasn't been a prog release since the collective ep in 05!
...might go listen to it now thinking about it.

What I wanna know, kind of related to Bedrock, is where in the world did Yunus Guvenen go. Granted I haven't been a fan of his stuff released under the Red Flag Collective, pretty much everything he has ever released on Bedrock is some of the best progressive house ever made. From Opus 34 to Mass Schizophrenia to Let Go, Bedrock needs to commission him for a couple tracks to celebrate their releasing of prog choons again....
(wakes up from dream)
damnit, another minimal release.....
Actually Yunus is just on the verge of a return and Digweed has most likely been playing a few of Yunus' new tracks already
Pretty sure [B-O-F-H] can tell you some more about that

their are several releases from bedrock out. not too much progressive but a lot of techno, minimal and such. why do people hate minimal so much

I agree with what everyone is saying but havent they're been some quality tunes this year under the "tech-house / electro / minimal" genre. DJs like Digweed, Sasha, Satoshi Tomiie, etc wouldn't be playing it if it wasnt good.

| Originally posted by djpaulc yeah some of the stuff digweed is playing, mainly towards the peak of his sets, is slightly leaning towards more proggy stuff. still far too much minimal and electro around nowadays for my liking. i think producers and DJs should stop jumping on bandwagons and get a style of their own. but until they start doing that, im afraid there will be a lot more minimal and electro tracks being released than progressive ones. i think James Holden's view on the scene is relevant here when he says that if you have produced a record that sounds like something else and has nothing new to bring to the scene, then dont fucking release it. |
