Review: Lee Burridge @ Footwork

This night defiantly deserves a few words. I never seen Lee Burridge before but i have herd nothing but good things. Let me start off by saying this man is a musical genius! He took footwork on a journey of musical minimal bliss! His set was the best thing i have herd musically all year maybe even longer to me it was such an epic night i defiantly did not want it too end.

The crowd was great a little bit older but they were all the for one reason and one reason only and that is minimal bliss so the vibe was off the charts.

His track selection was something's else always keeping a good pace and the flow from track to track was defiantly something else. Near the end of his set he dropped some mind blowing minimal tracks with the most amazing breakdowns and build ups and just when you think the night was going to end he drops the sickest beat ... wow just wow that is all i can say.

I will not miss Burridge ever again

Well, I loved his track selection, and he put together his set very patiently. It didn't really build to anywhere...it just sorta chugged along the whole night, with a few peaks and some nice deep points. It totally worked with the tunes he was playing. Lots of nice changes in rhythm and some nice builds/breakdowns to keep things interesting.

I did however think that some of his transitions really lulled. Definitely not the tightest set I've heard from him, but I still really enjoyed myself.

Especially because he played this remix of Most Precious Love, as I already mentioned in the other thread.

Highlight of my night man. When I heard the vocal coming in I thought..."Where do I know this from??" and realized it was that remix, which I've been dying to id for 2 years now, and have never heard ANYone play it. That's why I love Lee. Also because he closed with Professional Widow. <3

And ummm yeah, really good crowd, as always. Lotta heads, not too packed. God I love Footwork! And Leeeeeeeeee!!

it was Definately one of my favourit parties of the year, loved his track seletion and there were fair amount of "WTF moments " in his set ... he dropped a lot of tracks from his new Balance 012 ,Deep Dark, trippy & Techy all the way ..

Next Stop => Adam Bayer

my highlight was when he played dragonloop (dunno why im obsessed with that track off late) but then that highlight was busted when he dropped professional widow...great way to end the night

was one rush of a party felt like i barely walked in when it was time to walk out... he should do a marathon set sometime here..lol

was overall awesome but as mentioned previously, his set last year was aweseome-er..lol

Burridge Barrage invades Toronto? I think my ears just came at the thought of that.

Party was off the hook though. There were a few moments where the beats were a little too repetitive but I found that when it got to that point, there was some sinister basslines just around the corner. Yea...sinister would probably be the best way to describe the music on Saturday night.

One thing that really stood out though was the crowd. Definitely a more mature, or "professional" crowd out. Everyone seemed to be loving it.

One track I was really hoping to hear was H.O.S.H - Steppenwolf, but alas...can't have everything.

I enjoyed it, but I thought it was way too damn loud. But that may have been because the club wasn't that full when we got there. Otherwise yeah, he got the place warmed up just right.

Posted by infinity HiGH on Oct-15-2007 18:43:

Yea, Lee did a great job warming up for Lee.

i met a very nice girl, who within seconds of meeting me had already called me a pussy, spit in my hair, kicked me in the balls, and stolen my lunch money.
