Posted by Capitalizt on Oct-17-2007 09:05:

supreme commander is teh suck says these guys..

Starcraft #1!!

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Oct-17-2007 09:17:

look, if you want hard counterered rock-paper-scissors "insta-hit" game mechanics, then sc2 is the way to go.

you want a more strategic experience, forged alliance is the answer. nothing beats a proper simulation.

all the poor people with shit PCs can enjoy starcraft im sure.

I have a killer PC, but I really did not enjoy supreme commander at all.

fixed.

even if its the same game with improved graphics i'll still look forward to the improved multiplayer. The current battlenet that starcraft uses is terrible compared to the one for warcraft 3.

whats supreme commander?

Welcome to 5 months ago.

I've been following devellopment on a daily basis. Partly due to my intense fear of blizzard turning this into warcraft 3 in space and noobifying everything with shitty automation, so far they seem to be doing both. :/

So far, I got mixed feelings about SC2.

I've been posting very frequently on the official Blizzard forums (actual constructive posts at that). However, the immaturity and outright stupidity of the forums rival that of the CoR. It's kind of weird like that since it's the only forum where your ideas/input has any chance in hell of being heard by the Blizz dev team.

But yea, something that was very evil of Blizz: I made a comment in one of the threads saying how Blizz engineers their games from a business point of view... I basically said they design the game wholly, then release 2/3 of it as the vanilla version, and later "announce" the "development" of an expansion, which is really just the 1/3 they didn't release. I also told some newbs on the forum that the frequency at which Blizz releases new "units" etc. on the site has nothing to do with the speed of development, i.e. they probably have a working Zerg race right now, and them not releasing any info has nothing to do with how far along development they are. I basically said it's all marketing hype, which "is clearly working".

That thread got deleted within a couple hours. I bet the only reason they didn't outright ban me on the forum is due to my really fucking good game suggestions. So basically, they're using me, and shutting me up as they see fit.

Sometimes, I don't even know why I bother. It's just my love for the game I guess.

Not true. Blizzard has been paying attention to other community sites, and so far have done a good job of ignoring the trolling that goes on battle.net. The problem with the official SC2 forums is that a large part of the people there were never really into starcraft to begin with, they're just 10-12 year olds that played warcraft 3 and just happened to flood in there when the new sub-forum was created (it's listed alongside the warcraft 3 forums).

You'll get more intelligent discussion from sites like starcraft legacy or especially teamliquid.net. Interrestingly enough, I hadn't heard of these before, but browsing through the SC2 forums I kept reading posts about how people on teamliquid were a bunch of arrogant elitists and stuck up assholes, so I thought; if that's what a bunch of immature 10 year old warcraft 3 kiddies think, then there must actually be some interresting and intelligent discussion there, so I checked it out, and there was.

Posted by Turbonium on Nov-04-2007 22:24:

Ok, I will check it out also.

EDIT: Lame, I can't post for 10 days on TeamLiquid.
