Carl Cox at Pacha this Saturday

Anyone here going? Two of my friends are opening up for him. And also, this will be my first time seeing Carl Cox live!

CARL COX | King of Clubs + VICTOR CALDERONE | Evolve @ Pacha - Oct 20th

In Pacha's history of unbelievable DJ pairings, this one looms the largest. Victor Calderone gets to indulge his new techno lust with the king, the master, the Zeus of the genre, Carl Cox on Saturday, October 20th. Never before have two DJs so relentless shared the Pacha booth. We have reinforced the roof and triple-shellacked the dancefloor in preparation. Get there early and claim your spot, it's gonna be a long one!

A musical ambassador since he was in short trousers, a professional DJ since his early teens, a veteran of acid house and a champion of techno, Carl Cox emits a love of his work that is dangerously infectious. Check him when he's behind the turntables and you can't mistake his ecstatic visage, dripping with sweat as his head bobs up and down to the beat, his hands pumping the air whenever they're not manipulating the turntables, his body swaying back and forth, frequently taking to the mike to share word on the latest underground tune he's about to break. You name it, Carl's been there and done it, but he's never lost sight of the point of it: playing music, breaking tunes, spreading love, celebrating life.

After Cox received last year's 'Best Ibiza Club Night' at the Ibiza DJ awards for his Space residency, 'The King of Clubs' title seemed like a well-deserving name for this year's residency. And this season was the busiest and most talked about yet! Now Cox has adopted this theme for his ongoing tours with North and South America, followed by a trip to the Far East before he returns to his adopted home in Australia, where he'll return to his newfound love affair with motor bikes!

Music in the basement should be good as well. Stimulus Response rocked it out good the last time I was there for Behrouz at Pacha.

Great line-up but Pacha is way too small for this event. It's going to be rammed to the core with shirtless clowns.....even if I wasn't working I don't think I would go. I miss Calderone @ Crobar!

WTFFFFFF. Holy shit, did he bring it last nite. Came on at fuckin 1:30 and pounded the system track after track with sick, hard, pounding Tech-house, Tech, and some dope HOUSE bombs. I cant say I have ever heard him play like that. Track after track he just brought it. He ended around 5 AM and then Victor Calderone came on and so did every meathead in the tri-state area so I split. All in all, .

P.S. I havent had a nite out like this in fuckin 3 yrs.

This is the type of shit he was dropping. I guess he heard the reviews from the last time he was here with DT. ROTFLLLLL.

Pacha is not for me. I am going to Calderone outside NYC. (tristate)

I am going with bunch of friends to hear some real tribal from DJ Abel at Mension for Alegria Hulloween and if I am still alive after it I am going to go to Richie Santana & Peter Baily afterhours at Stereo.

I must say, although I did see my fare share of guidos, they didn't bother me. If you are dancing, you have a better chance of the average asshole finding another route around you. So that is what I did.

tracklist?! ANYONE?!

Posted by djquick83 on Oct-22-2007 20:41:

The openers were sick. Tattoo Detectives

http://tattoodetectives.com/cms/

This is some of their music from

Tattoo Detectives - Vonyc Sessions - September 07
http://tattoodetectives.podomatic.c...59_07-07_00.mp3

Tattoo Detectives on Paul Van Dyk's Vonyc Sessions - June 13, 2007
http://tattoodetectives.podomatic.c...16_42-07_00.mp3

So far, they have been featured on Carl Cox and PVD's weekly shows but they set it up perfectly for Cox at Pacha imo dropping some hard beats earlier on before Cox took over.

I would love to say something negative about your excitement of a DJ set, but I am more mature than some people I see on here who bash people for their good nights out. Glad you had a good time, maybe I will see cox again (after the e-tard fest and poor set with tenaglia I was going to give in.)

I never bashed ppl, I bashed artists. Theres a difference. Say what u want about Cox, he speaks for himself with his talent.

I love cox but he has sucked the last two times I have seen him. And yes, you DO make direct references to people, ALONG with bashing the DJ.
