Sample length **EDIT** Added sample
If you use a CDJ, (im using a 1000) create a loop then move the jog wheel backwards it shortens the length of the sample, if you keep going the sample plays back faster and faster until it sounds like a hi pitch noise.
Anyone know how to do this in reason if poss.
Ive created something similar when you have a bunch of midi notes at 1/64 increase the start sample and move the start sample velocity but it just isnt the desired effect. Any ideas would be great. Thanks
P.S. I did post last week with something similar and got some good advice but just realised I didnt post the correct sample.
ive added a sample of what i mean here
I think you could do this with something like ableton's beat repeat, can't think of a way to do it in reason, sorry
i don't know reason so unfortunatly i'm not much help. what's the sampler in reason? it doesn't have a loop start & end point? kontakt, sampler, mach5 all have it.
sorry justin : /
i dont think it can work. the only hope would be in the nn19 but i just tried it with no luck.
Put the sample in somthing like kontakt and use CC values or automate the loop end point till it gets shorter and shorter
What happened to my post? Weird, it showed up last night...

Wasnt they updating the forums or something yesterday? it was down for a while, Maybe its still screwed. To the others I did reply before and thanks

Music2Dance2, I think the method you're describing is the faux timestretch method in Reason. What I'd do for this case of shortening the sample effect in Reason is load the same sample multiple times in an NNXT, give each one a different root note and shorten the key range down to that one root note, set the loop end smaller and smaller for each sample. Now you have a seperate key for each length. I hope this is understandable. What I replied with last night was better, I think, but I don't remember it exactly. |
flutlicht junky - ok will look into that to. thanks guys again.
3F05Q - if i get stuck ill PM you as i dont use the nnxt as much as i should. About time i think.
tried it out....I dont think it will work as smoothly as I would hoped. Getting the length just doesnt sound right, but saying that ill still have a play around as that was good advice I could use another time.
Its a shame you cant automate the loop start or end or sample start or ends.
