Wmc 2008 Dates Are Out!!!!

ohhh yehhhh babbyyyyy dates are outt! march 25th- 29th. ULTRA march 28th + 29th!!!!!!!!

I will save up for this and good thing I know people down no more hotels

If you are going to WMC.. don't waste your time on Ultra. (Unless you are 18.) That's the only thing you can get into.

WMC is hella fun but I think I'm passing since I don't live there anymore. I guess I kinda HAVE to pass on it.

It's alot of money even for those with a place to stay

WMC is a dirty experience. Everyone should atleast go once!! It will always be my favorite time of the year [FUK X-MAS!! haha I keed]. So many dj's roaming the streets you bump into just about anyone, anywhere!

I'll be there Wen-Sun. Already working on a little Core @ WMC event

believe it or not but I haven't made it down to WMC yet. This year might be the year for me.

I heard this WMC 2008 will make up for the past 3 years or so...

considering it, WMC itself though, NOT Ultra.

if u've never been, you should go. (i went in 2005 and i loveddd it!!! ) but ever since they're increased it to two dates and moved the venue, its been a mix of rock/alt. as well as edm. Could be pretty interesting no less

but yeah, I agree with the parties being held during WMC week as being the best times EVER. just gotta wait for FINAL dates for the entire conference (25-30th as surmised in that prev thread?)

then again, perhaps if Miami Music Conference comes back this year (with Global Gathering kicking it off) then all bets are off



may be able to stay at a friend's place down there this year so itll def save some major $$. altho theres NO BETTER EXPERIENCE than staying on the Main strips of Washington and Collins (first-timers should DEF do this, i had SO MUCH FUN when I went down)

Nothing beats Miami in late March - the vibe is just INCREDIBLE!!!! tempwise, mid to high 80's with high sun if i go this time, i had well BETTER HIT UP A BEACH still havent set foot on a NICEE Miami Beach.

Beaches and All the 500 pool parties going on.

WMC is the only time that you can actually party 24 hours in a row non stop haha.

I love it.

Ultra 2005 was awesome but also Ultra 2001 was even memorable. It wasn't as "commercial" as it now is.


I don't understand how wmc 2008 is going to make up for the past 3 years. In a way WMC is better but at times it's gotten worse over the years. You wait in huge lines... Clubs are super crowded. Sometimes you can't see the DJ you went for because a room is at CAPACITY. It is also spring break for the Miami kids that weekend as well as all the out of towners that flock to Miami.

ugh, dont remind me about all the Ultras i missed out on...its KNOWN that the old days were the ones to be at. i was supposed to go in 2003 but it was not meant to be...thats how i ended up going up to System SoundBar/Guvernment for the first time as a consolation prize... <-- still loved it though!

and in 2005 I missed getting into a very crazy/crowded TIESTO Magic Musik Night at SPACE around 2am because of sudden news about a lil party down at Macarena Lounge (SECOND SUN) that i just could NOT miss out on. I don't regret it to this day though; sall good, met up my friends afterwards and hung out on the beach at their hotel on Ocean up until that flash downpour at around 6-630am lol

if you think about it DJs at events anywhere are getting too commercial nowadays not just at WMC.. sad to say it

well i meant more crowd wise.

I first went when i was a sophmore and by my senior year i was seeing all these people from my high school that i know for a fact didn't listen to the music. They just went cuz it is a "cool" thing to do.

Also in 2001 they had mixed genres on the main stage. PvD's closure set ALWAYS rock. He is the godfather of Ultra!!! Since 1999 he's been closing down Ultra and that is another reason why i love him so much

Just wish Ultra would switch up the acts. They have a loyal fan base and can pretty much put anyone on the stage and ppl will go .

That would be a great way to bring up lesser known talents, instead of the same dj's every year.

Still for those of you that are going for the very first time.. haha no need to tell you to enjoy it. It's def a crazy experience!!

im only 20 and ive been to WMC the past 2 years and gotten into everything except Mauro Picotto @ Prive and i almost had Mauro get me and my friend in..our IDs were ok but nothing special but no1 cares in Miami..yo Frank hook a brother up with a half hour spot or something haha..ill die if i get to spin in Miami!..

ps..Ultra last year sucked cuz there was only one actual tent (Carl Cox tent)..and when it started pouring eveery1 flocked to the tent and i stayed outside soaked listening to Ferry..what a day ha

Last year was my first time... def planning on going back! I'm going to prob start booking the hotel as soon as I'm allowed to b/c last time my friends and I booked last second and we got stuck w/ some hotel on like 40th street
