sandstorm cnfessionals

be honest did u like the tune before it exploded in to the commercial gaint it became?
at first i liked it i mean even PvD was playing and there are some good mixes of it but now its just played out and pisses me off

I have to admit that I liked the song at first too. But with any song that goes commercial, you hear it too often, and it gets tired. When I started hearing Sandstorm at Club108 (a cheesy house/dance club near Toronto), and started hearing it on the radio/music videos, it got old fast. Had it not gone commercial and overplayed, it would probably have a lot more respect.

Nah it always sucked. The synthwork is annoying.

Talking

yes..i liked it...i did a backflip to this song but then when my mom started liking...it , i felt like it was time to move on

When a song dies...

I was at a meeting/happy hour for my company a year and a half ago at a bowling alley. Thats right, a song is officially dead when you hear it mid-game at the bowling alley on a thursday afternoon.

i did like it the first time i heard it cause i did sound a bit different.....but got sick of it a couple of more times i heard it

Posted by Werewolf on Apr-26-2002 03:42:

yep, me too... actually I liked it a lot

Posted by Damo on Apr-26-2002 03:44:

i never liked it more than Better Off Alone. it's a decent song, but you could sense it was cheesey off the bat.... you just knew a lot of people were going to adopt it.

that's the nature of trance.... the more people that like it the cheesier that track is to the hardcore trancers, it's not right, you know somethings wrong when people call ferry corsten's punk cheese simply because it's popular. (even tho it's relatively unknown in the mainstream).

Smile

Ok..i loved the song to begin with and i own the maxi cd of it. I admit i liked the song.

Actually I dont think Better off Alone is cheesy, it's one of the 3 non-cheesy songs on the album... Sandstorm on the other hand is quite cheesy...

i'm sad to say i liked this song when i first heard it and thought the video was really tight. but that's when i first started getting into dance music so commercial music was all i heard. now i hate it and think whoever's listening to it is lame because so many people are like this tune is hot, when it's so old and horrible now.

the only good mix i know that i would even spin to this day is the superchumbo remix because it doesn't sound like the original mostly.

hahahahh that cracked me up. i loved this song b/c i hadn't ever been into electronic music before when i first heard it... but after reading through TA before registering for a looong time and getting tracks of quality, i think i know theres a big difference, massive difference.

Yes, I like it. I STILL like it.

I can't understand you people who say "I USED to like it"... how the hell can you stop liking a tune?

Besides, you non-Finnish people are lucky - we had to hear Sandstorm EVERY DAY for a year before anyone of you even knew it existed

Posted by Jah on Apr-26-2002 08:42:

yeah i liked it...one of the first tracks got me intot trance but it led onto bigger things which is why i feel its a important song

Posted by FinnHawk on Apr-26-2002 09:35:

I still like it!

Honestly, I don't listen to the radio, so I really haven't heard it out that much... never even heard it spun at a party, so it hasn't really been overplayed for me personally. I sometimes go back and listen to it and it always puts a smile on my face... sure it's cheesy, but it's the good kind of cheese in my opinion.

-da rude boyz - desert storm
-r2m - sandblaster

Smoking ..umm..something

Two nights ago I was flipping channels. One of the channels I flipped through was our local access channel. It had high schoolers running across a mat and doing a single tumble or cartwheel. And then sometimes they would just run across. The music they were doing this to was sandstorm. Thats how you can not like it. It is beat to death. That and Zombie Nation. I cant get through a NHL hockey game without hearing those songs anymore. Same with the NFL. Then if I go out to the lame clubs around here, i hear those songs as well. I will admit I enjoyed sandstorm when I first heard it but it seems like ages ago and I have found so much better.

Posted by trintiy on Apr-26-2002 13:18:

I like it and still like it, my fav is the OnePhatSandstorm remix!

Posted by Ves on Apr-26-2002 13:32:

I did like Sandstorm the first time I heard it... but after listening to it for about the third time, I forgot all about it and started listening to hard house and house. The next time I listened to Sandstorm, I thought it was pure crap.

I have actually heard Feel The Beat more times than Sandstorm, and think it's more annoying.

Posted by Raptor on Apr-26-2002 13:43:

i loved the song at first... but after it was played everywhere you go i mean everywhere! you really get sick of it!

Posted by IronDragon on Apr-26-2002 16:31:

This song is obviously overplayed to an absolutley ludicrous level but I still don't find it all that bad.

Posted by Dj Zinni on Apr-26-2002 17:27:
