Question about Files being imported with wrong track time to I-tunes

So, today I downloaded a course to my i-mac, and it came in a RAR format. I downloaded a free RAR decoader from the internet, from unrarx.com, and proceeded to unpack the rar file and it shoed up in my files as 25 MP3 files and a PDF file, for a transcript. I then opened the first track to i-tunes, and it showed up as having a time of 5:30, five min 30 seconds on i-tunes. The actual track was about 10 minutes long. What happened was even though the track was really ten minutes long, it eneded at 5 minutes and went to the next track on the list if I let it play though without disturbing it. The funny thing was, I could move the curser along the track length bar up top and where I placed it would be relative to the actual length of 10 minutes, but would play for only the remaining amount of time left from the 5 minute track.

In other words, i-tunes uploaded my track to the wrong length, and even though the full track is there, it will only play for half the time.

Can anybody help me. I want to ask here first before I waste my time trying to call i-tunes support, don't know how long I'll be waiting.

BTW, I'm heading out tonight, so if you ask a question, I won't be able to respond, because I'll probably be drinking.
