Gran Turismo 5 vs real life

GT5: Prologue is coming as a PSN download this fall, and the full game sometime next year.

Polyphony Digital never messes around with CG so you know it's the real deal.

Wow.

Wow.

looks good...i just hope they finish modeling the interiors for in car view, add realistic damage to the vehicles, and improved AI in time for release

haha, that seriously looks much better than GT2 on my ps1. I got more important things to spend on than a PS3 so I'll have to pass.

When the games released, I'll believe that. For now, Sony and anyone in relation to thereof are bastards when it comes to feeding its fans bullshit pies, IMO.

Wait, this is Gran Turismo 5? But 4 isn't even released yet...

EDIT: Whatever it is, it looks absolutely gorgeous. I'd buy the PS3 for this and MGS4 alone. Those screens, if true, are hard-on inducing.

Impressive, though the over all look of the game suffers from relatively dissimilar quality between the car detail and almost everything else. Good to see graphics starting to resemble real life, though.

GT4 came out in 2005 for PS2.

holy crap some people are confused.

well all of the games have looked great for the time then came out. the issue is that despite the years passed, all previews say the AT is still total rubbish. gt has the pinnings to be the best driving game of all time, but it ends up being a driving by yourself sim|

(forza's driving model, plus gts collection and visuals=heaven)

complete graphical badassery

Looks great, but GT always does.

They suffer so much from bad game play. Terrible crash physics and terrible AI. OK, somebody already said it, but it needs to be said EVERYTIME, until they fix it.

This game probably has the biggest budget of any racing sim, and they still can't get it right. Even GT4 felt like i was still playing GT1.

They need to ditch their entire physics engine and re-write it from scratch. All they have to do is, put in fewer tracks, and cars, and concentrate on making a more complete game, rather than one that spans everything.

Having played GT-HD, it again feels the same.

PGR5 should be out by the time this game ships. By the looks of it screen shoots don't look that much different from what i see in PGR4.

Btw anyone played the new PGR4. SICK SHIT. I've only played the demo tho.

How can you have heard anything when the game isnt due for another 6-12 months? Where did you get that info from?

First off, online multiplayer was confirmed last I heard. That alone should satisfy a lot of people who are pissed about shoddy AI since then you will be playing against people.

I'd also be surprised if they didnt animate damage this time around since a lot of the competing racing series already have. Thats something I just dont know.

Meh, I find gameplay for PGR is similar to GT, in that its a bit boring. Forza ftw....just not graphically.

I'll wait until PGR is much cheaper before buying it, perhaps with a steering wheel.

I disagree with this statement. I've been playing GT4 quite a while (me and my buddy started a new game and have been slowing beating away at it for about a month now). When I went and demo'd GT-HD, I found the handling of the vehicles to be quite different. The reaction the cars gave to a turn seemed far more realistic to real life than that of GT4. It no longer felt like the cars were floating above the tarmack but actually gripping the road.

I also feel the same about the GT5 Prologue demo. The handling of the cars seems more responsive than GT-HD. But it does seem you can drive a bit more aggressively, in comparison to GT-HD, and not worry about losing control as easily. Or it could just be the fact that the new Nissan GT-R is just an amazing car

Read any gaming sites lately?

Gamespot GC coverage GT5 prologue hands on

Prologue still indicates its not the final version, but closer to GT5 than GTHD. it still looks amazing, i just hope they focus on gameplay too and not just making your car faster than everyone you are racing|
