Who are the criminal elements of the free world?

I'm wondering that if you believe thier is a real criminal organization that doesn't take orders from a higher power, that higher power being the government, or is all organized crime related to which ever intelligence angency can force individuals to do?
So the question is the government out to make nearly everything enjoyable illegal so to create a black market to profit off?

When the Chicago outfit was at thier peak (1950's-1980's), they didnt take orders from anybody.

I think there are only a handful of criminal organizations that DO take orders from a government. What are you smoking?

here's a hint: do you think the government makes more money from the illegal trade in opium, or taxes from the tobacco industry?

I think there are many organizations who stand on thier own. The problem is what do you classify as "criminal"? Does one single offence make an organization criminal? I think if that's your deffinition there are millions of these organizations, almost every public corporate entity could be clasified as criminal with this description.

Or, to go the other way, is a "criminal" organization one that has no legitimate business? In this case I'd say there are very few. Most organized crime has realized that having legitimate elements to thier organization is quite useful, especially for money laundering. After all Capone was taken down by the IRS in the end.

The bankers in charge of issuing our currency...

As I recall it's Congress that can only coin and print notes, but that's not that case.

Congress can't even handle all of the tasks that they do choose to tackle, so they delegate authority on lots of things. I don't understand why that is so controversial.

Well, do you know what privatizing the issuing of currency does? Essentially, Congress has no authority over the power of money. It will always be in debt to the Fed, and will always be paying interest on every dollar created. Why should we always be in debt?

Listen, I don't want to get rid of central banking. But the central bank needs to be NATIONALIZED. I hope some of you don't think that I want no central banking authority or policy.

Hm, I think maybe you thought this answer was obvious, but I'm not sure it really is. o.O

The opium trade could potentially be one of the highest grossing income industries on the planet, next to oil of course.

I imagine if the CIA needed to rack up tons of cash for international espionage, tools, assassins, paying spies, etc, they'd need a source of non-taxed, under the table income.

First, who made you the content police? I posted my opinion because obviously, I thought it relevant to the thread, irrespective of what you think the proper relevancy is.

Secondly, I haven't had the time to sit down and read that enormous block of text occ posted in depth. Before I post, I need to at least skim through it, examine some parts, agree or disagree, and find some sources of my own. Sometimes that can take me more than 30 minutes or an hour, and this one definately will take some time. I know you're anxious, but I've got Wednesday as my day off to lolly gag around the PDD, so don't worry...
