-- What video disc is this?! (Laser disc)

Question What video disc is this?! (Laser disc)

So I was in a random store stoday and came across some X-Files packaging in some vinyl-size casing. One was kinda already open, so I had a peak inside, and I saw what can only be described as a HUGE-looking DVD. There were about 3 or 4 episodes on this disc (whatever it was). The only thing I could think was that it was for digital projection or the suchlike.

Does anyone know what I saw?!

They used to use them for karaoke.

well they were around at the dawning of the karaoke era but Laserdiscs had and to some extent still have a important following in the cinephile arena.

But trying to get a high quality laserdisc player today costs muchos pesos

We totally used to have one in my basement, doing nothing but collecting dust. I think some of the great titles that we had for it included, Total Recall starring Arnold, and the classic that is die hard.

Was totally cool at the time but never took off i guess :/
