IMAGINE FRIDAY w/ BLANK & JONES 11/30/07 @ Webster Hall

Webster Hall
New York City
Presents...

IMAGINE FRIDAY w/

BLANK & JONES

Friday November 30, 2007

BLANK & JONES:

Seven artist albums and 15 hit singles. That says it all. Piet Blank and Jaspa Jones have been hugely important in the history of electronic music
BLANK & JONES' roots are firmly placed in DJ culture. Year after year, millions of ravers around the globe feel the heat of their sensational sets at major events like Mayday, Nature One and Love Parade as well as in clubs all over the world. BLANK & JONES mix DJ and live, making the most of today's technology. "We do everything digitally, on the basis of Final Scratch, which allows us to use our own edits and mixes, nothing comes straight from tape. Every set we play is unique, not only sound-wise but also in terms of what we play and how we play it. Roughly 60% of our set consists of our own repertoire, as where better to present our own material than via the DJ decks."

WEBSTER HALL:

Originally opened in 1886 and restored to its original lustre in 1990, Webster Hall is the shining jewel of New York City nightlife. Selected by New York Magazine as New York's best Live Music Venue, Webster Hall now features the finest sound system in NYC and probably the world. Designed by the leaders in sound engineering Steve Dash and George Stavro of Integral Sound (responsible for the landmark sound systems in the original Sound Factory and Twilo), Webster Hall is now the premiere venue for the world's leading DJs and producers.

Still trying to see what's the benefit of the event being 19+ as opposed to 18+ ?

ha ha ha
ok but even you will admit this
blank and jones are terrible djs
they cant mix for shit
track selection they bang it out proper no boring for a few hours to build it up
they start banging from the start but they cant mix
like i can deal with 1 or 2 trainwrecks but when your tryin to dance and they keep fukin up ur flow lol its not right
iam not sayin iam not gonna go at this point iam leanin more towards blank and jones cause they were one of the djs that first put me onto trance back in 99
but as for better quality event lawernce and moor is the better one hands down

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Nov-06-2007 21:05:

o without a doubt these boys cant mix.

They are still the same as that massive Trance energy set back in 2000...

But i love their crowd interraction and i love the new set up @ webster.
They will be super close and that means great interraction.

\o/

And for the record, CL was cleared of the DJ Mag allegations

CL bangs it out proper and Rebel is an awesome venue. Webster Hall FTL...

yeah.

suuuuuuuuuuure buddy. There's no point in turning this thread into one of the MD thread. But if u read the smart people's view on the poll then u will know CL is still a cheater

Plus, CL is the American version of Armin. All he does is smile while he plays and omg i diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie

Webster has been bringing in better talent than any other club so I dunno what ur talking about.

Sasha, Lee , Sander after B&J ftw.

No one is questioning the talent being booked by management, the venue itself is mediocre at best. If read the "smart people's view" regarding Webster Hall, I'm sure the majority of the people on this board will agree that Webster Hall sucks.

And to compare Armin to CL is pretty laughable. You can't even compare their styles. Armin is cheesy trance, CL plays the bangin' stuff.

Not saying that B&J isn't any good, their productions are awesome but the blind/mute lady that hangs out around that corner can mix better than those two

LOL!!! I love B&J but, even if I weren't playing @ REBEL that night, I'd still choose CL & MOOR over them... Otherwise, I would definitely go, B&J rock it proper, even if their mixing is ehhh...

When I said like Armin being all smiles behind the decks .. i was comparing their crowd interractions. Both of them have shit styles imo.

Webster might have been shit before but if you haven't been there since i've moved.. the sound and lighting has gotten way better.

Someone calling Sasha, Lee, Talla, JooF, Askew, Cosmic Gate and Sander van Doorn "mediocre" talent will think that if they believe Dj Rap is a great Dj.

+ Webster has no Asians which is why I personally love it.

"shit styles" of interaction? that's a new one.

If you read my post, I said the venue was mediocre. Read carefully, not once did I say the talent being booked was mediocre.

The sound system has improved but the crowd still sucks. I personally like the overall feel and experience at Rebel better.

lol

No, I said they have shit music styles.

I did skim through ur post super fast and read it wrong. I haven't checked out Rebel yet. Was supposed to one time but I forgot what happened.

I def wouldn't go to see CL . Hes ok. But at a time when awesome talent is being brought.. I won't waste it on mediocre talent. Weekend after is going to be nuts with SvD. Haven't seen him since WMC 2006!!!!

Big Mike or Eco...

Would you guys happen to know the set times for the CL and Andy Moor show? What time would Rebel close that night?

I was there for Victor Dinaire and it closed around 5am. Can we expect the same thing for this night? Thanks
