-- The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy
The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy
The biggest taboo and worst kept secret in America gets exposed ,well just a little bit. I have read only 30 pages but in reading reviews I can see it's somewhat narrowed and pragmatic approach to this issue about motives behind US foreign policy. Predictably it deals with recent disasters like 9/11 and Iraq but also posts a question what does US get for billions it donates to Israel and a complete privileged status it enjoys in the media and in diplomacy. Since the book is not politically correct , it tries to be the most politically correct it can get and that's where it fails somewhat to be taken at face value
This is all rhetorical however it skips couple of points as it only focuses on the middle east but US direct or indirect support of any islamic movement that can't threaten Israel to supposedly balance out their championing of Israel doesn't get mention at all. It's well known that main if not all supporters of bosnian muslims and albanian muslims were jews and non jewish zionists. I gather the same thing is in regards to checnya and some other places like kurdish areas.

Good book, post books in the "book recommendation" thread next time..
"Now in a work of major importance, Mearsheimer and Walt deepen and expand their argument and confront recent developments in Lebanon and Iran. They describe the remarkable level of material and diplomatic support that the United States provides to Israel and argues that this support cannot be fully explained on either strategic or moral grounds. This exceptional relationship is due largely to the political influence of a loose coalition of individuals and organizations that actively work to shape U.S. foreign policy in a pro-Israel direction. Mearsheimer and Walt provocatively contend that the lobby has a far-reaching impact on Americas posture throughout the Middle Eastin Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflictand the policies it has encouraged are in neither Americas national interest nor Israels long-term interest. The lobbys influence also affects Americas relationship with important allies and increases dangers that all states face from global jihadist terror."
One other thing that seems to be missing is the so called "liberal" wing of Israel lobby like Clintons and the "democrats" , liberal imperialist billionaire Soros and the hollywood which makes it seem biased in their behaviour but they are more dangerous and they play the role of largely fake opposition in order to silence the legitimate one .
Wonder where are the neocon followers to refute this ?
But here is one guy who thinks it's not american zionists who are guilty of deception to wars but it's "America" that is guilty of whatever it is .
