Wow, there's lots of new features.
If only they had fixed stereo rewire, it would have been perfect.

Loads.

I still don't 'trust' Cubase 4 and haven't upgraded from SX3. How many happy Cubase 4 users are there on here? 4.1 looks tempting but I still don't know....apart from drag and drop fx I'm not really that interested on anything else. But drag and drop fx.....arg, that alone is the outstanding reason by a long way that makes me want to upgrade.

Posted by Eric J on Oct-23-2007 21:29:

Count me a one happy user. The new Synths/FX alone are worth the upgrade. It is very Nuendo in its implementation.

Another happy user. First bit of audio software I purchased. Happy with it.

Let's see if this changes my mind about selling Cubase...

I'm sorry you are so dissapointed with C4 echo. So far though, this update has been awesome. I'm enjoying it much. I wish you were on my party boat with me.

I've always been unhappy with Cubase. Been using it since SX1 and it has never been 100% stable. Anyway...

Sidechaining works really well in 4.1. I'm impressed! Theres even a button for the sidechained FX panel lol. The little quick edits window is also quite neat. I'm gonna make a brief return to the Shiteberg world to see if they've got it together yet.

I have a AMD 1.9 ghz with 512 ram...can C4 run on this? Anyone running it on a lower spec comp like mine?

it will run, it's just a matter of how well. personally i would go for a lighter daw *cough* reaper *cough* if you weren't going to upgrade your pc.

Posted by Eldritch on Oct-24-2007 09:52:

Rewire seems to be borked. The Reason Engine won't load.

/EDIT
Nevermind! Cubase had somehow switched to the wrong ASIO driver.

well looks like I'm gonna stay on cubase SX3 for a long while.

Thanks

the update made my cubase much faster. it's even faster than *cough* reaper *cough*

Same here, performance seems to be MUCH improved. There are a lot of little feature enhancements, such as the elimination of the Earlier VST Plugins folder and the little icon next to VST3 plugins that make it a lot easier to use. I have only had the chance to use it for one session and havent gotten too far into the new features, but so far so good.

It seems as if this is the way it should have been at 4.0, but, just like Windows XP, sometimes it takes a service pack or two to get things right.

Posted by wrzonance on Oct-24-2007 19:02:

Yea. I just made a practice session, I love the new features. Routing is great. Have you figured out how to bus the output of one track to another audio track and record it yet Eric? I should not be lazy and just read how. But I was curious if you'd figured that out yet.

The new Roomworks is pretty dope too. So far, no hiccups, it's running flawlessly on both my PC Desktop, and my Macbook Pro.

Oh and echosystm, why are you such a little prat? I mean, I can't give you too much grief because you do contribute helpful information here. We are glad you like reaper. But enough is enough; quit evangelizing -- especially in a thread about Cubase 4.1, it's just off topic.

No I havent had time to mess with that one yet. I am currently in the beginning phases of writing a new track, so I dont figure I'll get to that for a little while once my track arrangement is completed. If you figure it out, please do let us know!
