Moving to South FL need info!

Hey everyone, I will be moving to the Ft. Lauderdale area in Jan. '03. Coming all the way from St. Louis. Just curious whatever info you can give me about the town and such. Doesn't have to be just about the scene. Where are the good areas to live in Ft. Laud? etc... Any help would be appreciated.
