Peanut died today...
I hate loosing pets..
Peanut was a Teddy Bear/Golden Hamster both my girl and I bought when I was doing a local radio show, we got her in the summer of 2003. When I closed Studio1 in 2005, she came with us..
This morning my girl woke me up to tell me she tried to feed her and she was cold. Every morning she would get up to feed her, after she came and poked me and said Peanut is dead....I got outta bed this morning to find out she was right.
We had 2 others that passed away, both Bass and Treble, before her. Peanut was my favorite. She was great tho and really interacted with everyone who came by the Studio and my house. She never bit anyone, and was always happy to sit in my addidas sweatshirt front pocket or in the hood. She kept me company when I would play records or spin at home. Sometimes Id put her on the record or the plate and she would sit there like it was some kind of merry go round. She was with me for all recordings of all CDs this year and last year I handed out. She also was awake most of the time when I came home from the clubs or a rave, and I would often grab her outta the cage when I came hometo relax a bit.
Everyone who came by, she would greet by coming up to front of the cage and peering out.
I didnt cry at all, just was pretty shocked cause she was alright last night,... Kinda sad today too... We both loved her alot.
Ill miss you Peanut. R.I.P.
God, LOOSING PETS SUCK...

take care, losing a pet is really tough.
You're making me cry! *wipes tear* I know too many times what it feels like to lose a pet, a pet you consider family. It SUCKS big time!
Awwww, I got teary eyed. I hate losing pets.

That picture of her is so cute.
Actually thas not really her, she was much bigger. She looked like that tho..
Thanks everyone.
Someone told me to go get another one. I just might do that if I can find one similar.
I know theres a few TAs out there with Hamsters...
i'm so sorry to hear about your loss!!! losing a pet is so hard. i had a pet rat all through college and she died the year i graduated. it was so hard. you don't think you're gonna get that attached to a little rat but i did!!!
and then 3 months ago my german shepard died from the dog food re-call. she was older but not that old. my heart still feels like it's being riped out when i think about her.
anyways, sorry again, i hope you get another little furry friend to love on

I'm sorry for your loss. I don't know what i'd do if Cody died
So tough to lose a pet. My sympathy goes out to you. Although she can't be replaced there are a lot of guys out there that need a home.
Good luck.
I'm still sad about my 9 year old Chow Chows passing.
It's been many years.
On the bright side I heard when you die, all your pets greet you on the other side. It's like they can't wait to be reunited with you.

I'm sorry. I miss my guinea pig too...
Sorry to hear about your pet Dave, it really brings a person down when this happens and you wish they could live as long as us.
My Rottie had bone cancer in Dec of 2005 and he was my baby boy. I was too torn to work for a month and it stlll rips me apart to think about when I had to put him to sleep and how he was staring at me right to his last breath.

Sorry dude. I'm sure you'll find another production partner soon.
I lost my Akita-Chow mix recently (just days after my dad passed away actually but that's entirely different, and made my dog's passing pale in comparison). She was a freakin' ninja. My dad witnessed her bank off an 8 foot fence and grab a possum from the top of it by its neck and whip around in mid-air to snap its neck. It was dead before it hit the ground.
Time for a St. Bernard. And yes, it will have a tiny barrel on its collar filled with hooch. I promise.
poor thing, sorry to hear rip...
i would like to give a shoutout to George, rip too buddy.

Thanks everyone.
Yesterday when I arrived home the cage where I kept her next to the studio was next to the door, a grim reminder she wasent with us anymore. Her usual greeting me like in the pic below was something i grew acustom to when coming home.
After my Dog passed in 2001, I got attached to this one since it was the next pet in line.
I buried her this morning. Me and my girl agreed to go down the pet store today to see if we can find another, possibly a small dog. Im happy to see so many pet lovers here on TA. Woody, any tips on guinea pigs? Do they bite alot?
Heres wat she looked like everyone.

I will never forget the time we all came home from a party, when i took her out of her cage for a bit and put her on one of my drunk friends who was sleeping. In front of all of us he screamed like a little girl. I so didnt know that Russ had a phobia of small animals.
When I was in 5th grade I cried like a girl with a skinned knee when my hamster died in my hands.
