Arrow ID Contest 57 - The maybe not so ultra-easy(ish) edition!

Time to wreck those heads again!

50 samples; a point each for the artist, title and mix.

Except for the last five. In an incredible show of ingenuity I've decided to take the usual fifteen second samples, but instead of being from tracks they are from sets. Don't worry, nothing too obscure. The scoring is pretty much the same for them; one point for the DJ, the event and the date. The last one is a video though (.flv file which this can play if you're stuck).

The zip file is below (14MB). Thanks to Mr. Mystery for hosting this.

ID57

The deadline is 20:00 GMT, November 11th (Sunday fortnight).

Best of luck!

Fair enough, but I thought that I'd just mix it up a bit.

The last ones should be easy, just guess each date from say January 1st 1997 to yesterday on every one, then figure out who played where at that date.

I did not think this through.

Ultra-wha? This ain't easy!

Posted by GroundLine on Oct-27-2007 07:28:

This is piss hard for me. Even Chris would beat my score if I participated.

Fucking hell, I honestly thought that I'd made an easy contest. Looks like I've overestimated the popularity of a lot of these!

I didn't really think it was that hard. I think it's pretty well balanced - some easy, some hard. There's just not many straight out giveaways.

People are just lazy

me neither.. thought it was just about right

Alright, here's the first table. The Mysterious one takes the lead but there isn't a whole lot separating him from the others.

Mr. Mystery 74
isoterra 58
benjamin 49
lacksesepsotygh 24

The uniques table has a similar look:

Mr. Mystery 7
benjamin 3
isoterra 2
lacksesepotygh 1

The sample with the most IDs is 37 with all four entrants getting it, while 20 is not far behind. The award for "Wow, how has this not been ID'd (fully) yet?" goes to 49. There's still another 16 non-ID'd samples looking for a good home.

Just under two weeks left folks so get those entries in!

I know, but I thought that the set was incredibly well known. But I guess they're only easy if you know them. (And even then they can be a bastard!)

I hate being last but one

Posted by Chittle on Nov-04-2007 10:25:

A new entry comes in from phant0m, who wades in with 36 points;

Mr. Mystery 74
isoterra 58
benjamin 49
phant0m 36
lacksesepsotygh 24

He also makes his mark on the uniques table, grabbing a couple of his own while taking a few from the others;

Mr. Mystery 5 (-2)
benjamin 2 (-1)
isoterra 2
phant0m 2
lacksesepsotygh 1

I'll give out some hints for the remaining IDs later to try and generate a bit more interest in this, seeing as it's kinda dying on its arse a bit!

Could I interest Sir in some hints perhaps?

41. A recent release, just under a dozen days.

42. Finnish producer who had a big hit in 2005, but has since changed his style a good deal.
