Lack of Dance music in my area

I currently live in San Diego and there isn't a dance station for hours and DJ events are rare unless you're able to drive to LA usually. What I am getting at is that since I moved here, I have had a hard time keeping up on new music and I won't hear about new songs for a long time. I know there are lots of threads here about new music but I don't have time to read everything here and theres no way to listen to a lot of the songs since they aren't on itunes, etc. before I buy. Has anyone else had this same problem and come up with a good way to get around it?

I was considering satellite radio but figured the dance stations they have would be poor and haven't seen/heard anything good about them.

It would probably help if you actually cared enough to put the effort into finding it for yourself.

Beatport and Juno are your friends.

You're on TA, which means your have the internet. You'll find enough recent mixes, online streams, and live radio shows to whet your appetite. It'll keep you current. I'm sure armin is playing stuff that's just as new as the stuff your local DJs spin

Ya rly, and it's quite easy to find dj livesets to download in many places*, which is a great way of getting new fresh music (although the legality of this is a bit questionable).

* for starters: our amateur DJs forum, our tracklistings forum which usually has lots of links, mixesdb.com, livesets.com, themixingbowl.org

As for finding real parties/clubs/events, you'll have better luck if you ask in your local forums.

I live in Cleveland Ohio and of all places there's always an EDM event somewhere. So I doubt there's no EDM events in San Diego. Perhaps you're not searching hard enough, or just waiting for a "top 10 DJ" to come around. I'm sure there's plenty of local talent in San Diego.
