John Digweed?

going to check him out. he is the only dj in the top 10/20 i havnt actually heard play or know anything about. just curious before i go find some sets.. does anyone recommend any of his stand outs?

Only thing i got is an EM @ Space, Ibiza with Carl Cox and Him.. other than that. got nothing.

What type of music is he playing at the moment?

Why is he so popular?

How do u pronounce his name?

The man's a legend.

edit - also, pronounce his name excactly as it sounds (strange, I know).

If you don't like it through your computer/car cd player/whatever, see him anyway. I didn't understand Sasha or Diggerz till this year when I saw them live. I don't know what the hell they do, but in a club it's absolutely fantastic.

Don't know about Sasha but Digweed just stands there like a zombie. I guess the music speaks for itself though.

One of the reasons why I love him, he might give a little smile or thank you wave at the start of his set, but then he just gets on with it and lets the music do the talking, as it should, he'll keep an eye on the crowd reaction as well of course

Anyway just go and see him, you wont regret it and also dont go completely by his sets (whilst they are mostly excellent) he can play some really insane twisted dark and heavy stuff in the final hours of his set (the parts of his set that are rarely recorded/broadcast)

The set was recorded at Digweed's Pawnshop gig during the WMC (of course in March), but the mp3 has the date that it was broadcast on Kiss 100, namely this Sunday gone

I wonder what style he'll be playing in about 2 years. Because judging by the way things are going for tech house, it will die out in about 2-3 years.

What makes you say that?

My favorite Digweed moment is still MMII. When "I Have Put Out The Lights" first comes on, I close my eyes and am one with the universe. Metaphorically speaking of course.
