Why the movie 'Signs' didn't make any sense.

Alright so these creatures are repelled by water, basically water acts as a corrosive acid on their skin/extremities/etc.

Isn't there a certain amount of water vapor in our atmosphere and breathable air? So how could these supposed aliens be walking around and all that? The moment they stepped out of the spaceship they should've instantly contracted a sort of alien bronchitis as their lungs slowly decayed. Probably living for no more than a day... Or am I way off here?

why would an alien civilization invade a planet that is 98% water?

You need to pay closer attention. In the movie they state that it's the impurities in our water that harm the aliens... not the water itself.

Actually, it is... Water vapor in the air is pure water vapor (duh - its a gas in the air).

The 6th Sense didn't make much sense either, ironic as it might be.

Ohh and in the Village, why would the government allow some pplz to just chill in a national park. didn't we learn anything from Heaven's Gate???

if I recall correctly, the impurities were organizms of some sort... regardless, the impurities one finds in liquid water is often different from what one finds in the atmosphere. Although we're just talking about a stupid movie here your question illustrates exactly how idiotic debates start... some moron with only part of the information on a given subject makes a conclusion... please refrain from making conclusions until you've examined all the information available.

they had ubar billions of dollars... or even more...

but keeping their young children away from society might be hard on the government too... also keeping air planes off their air space and to also not be even within ear shot might be difficult too..

Regardless, you'd think those super-advanced aliens would study the planet just a *little* bit before committing all their ressources to a full scale invasion.

That's what happened in Spielberg's "War of the Worlds". And God, did that movie suck.

no, it's my opinion that the movie didn't make sense. in the thread i specifically inquire if, and i quote, i'm "way off here?" hence requiring further explanation and not just stating (or concluding) that the movie didn't make sense. i leave room for argument and doubt.

You stated a conclusion and then asked a question... such a question when you have already stated your conclusion would normally be rhetorical, subsequently, any persons who understand how to properly utilize English would have taken your question to be a rhetorical device meant to enforce your conclusion. no the statement itself was in a form of multiple questions. what you mistake for a statement or conclusion was, in fact, just the title of the thread. if you going to go about mistaking titles for the body of the subject, better yet "judging a book by its cover" - maybe you shouldn't input you analysis on it at all... son.

That picture just reminded me of the thing that was just on Spike TV. Some dumb bear climbs up an electric pole and gets zapped by 7,000 volts of electricity and falls like 30 feet to the ground.

AND SURVIVES

For how smart aliens seem in movies they sure are dumb.

That was such an epic English battle.
