Sound Factory Miami
http://soundfactorymiami.com/home.php
Have you guys heard about this?
In case you don't know, Sound Factory is an NYC club. I hear from an NYC native that SF Miami will be proper... multiple floors, Dynacord sound, terrace.
It certainly can't hurt to have another mega club in Miami, especially after the loss of Twilo. You guys are so lucky down there. Will this one last?
Hell yea. Hope the floors are themed for dancing and not a mansion look a like. Pacha should set up a place or ministry of sound - Miami. Be sweet
thanks for the news. i signed up for the mailing list. i just hope they bring in some talent. it can be the sickest club in the world but if you dont bring in talent you wont be getting my money.
Would definitely like to see some new bookings as well... Hope to see it open by conference..

MIAMI-Sound Factory, which operated a nightclub on 46th Street in Manhattan, has exited the Big Apple and taken a lease for 27,500 sf at 1025 N. Miami Ave. The building owner is a partnership headed by locally based Gil Terem.
Richard Grant, Sound Factorys owner, says the lease is for a 20-year term and the opening rental rate is $17 per sf. The four-story building will have different styles of music on each floor and live shows. There will be a VIP lounge on the rooftop. Grant says occupancy allows for 483 people at a time on each floor so total occupancy can be about 2,000 people at a time.
Locally based Max Strang Architecture is designing the club. Strang says, the look will honor the industrial esthetic of this rather edgy neighborhood. The building will have high-tech sound and light systems with 120,000 watts of power. This building will pulse.
The location is in the heart of Miamis entertainment district. Miami has a perfect demographic, more suitable for us than New York, Grant tells GlobeSt.com. He says he also plans to open Sound Factory nightclubs in London and Tokyo.

Be sweet if they had a balcony type of thing on one of the floors looking below like pacha NY. So its like 2 floors share the same sound.

they've been kicking this around for years and they finally decide to make things happen at a time when the future of the 24hr District is unclear. either way, LP will send another group of New Yorkers back home with their tails between their legs.

I lived at 850 N. Miami ave from December 2005 - May 2007. For the last year that I was there they advertised Soundfactory Miami. They even had a website up. Then the sign came down....no action. I hope this is all true!
1035 N. Miami ave...is that the corner building that has been getting rehabbed for the last several months?? On the same block as Space?? By the looks of it I figured they found another use for it--not a club. Did not look like it was getting renovated to be a club. Please fill me in.
I think that the 2 block area of N. Miami Ave (on the way to Karu-Y), North of NE 11st St..is PRIME location. There are many big buildings that would make great clubs, restaurants, etc. I am sure you will see that develop in the next few years. They just need some street lights to make you feel like you won't get shot walking there. I've even seen naked haitians walking around in the night there...scary sight....believe me. Anyhow, will keep an eye on this news!!

Yea, it used to say "coming fall 2006" I remember seeing those pull down doors. That's why I thought "guess there's going to be no Sound Factory". Just very wierd....pull down doors on a club. Place doesn't seem like its 27,000 sq. feet either. Isn't it just 2 stories?? Doesn't look like 4 to me. I cannot imagine that place holding 2,000 people! Either way---hopefully it opens. But given what has happened to Nocturnal and Twilo---god knows....there's only ONE SPACE!! Nobody seems to fair that well. Twilo made TONS of mistakes though...let's hope Soundfactory doesn't make the same ones.
