Kevlar – The Mongoose

Anyone have ANY idea when this is coming out? When Sasha dropped this 2 weeks ago.. I just couldn't get it out of my head. I've been searching for it ever since!

Fucking ace track.

+1 Fucking amazing track, one of the best of 2007 for sure. I've been searching for a release date but I didn't have any luck

"Kevlar - The Mongoose is due on RebelOne in October which is a sub label of Crosstown Rebels that is run by Damian Lazarus."

Quote from GU forums back a while...maybe it's been pushed back a bit.

I hear its gonna be out next month
Has been promoed already

FYI Kevlar = Spooky

Would seem to fit in with RebelOne's naming protocol.

Hahaa, I was trying to get Duncan to tell me and he kept saying no. What a jerk. I think it's because he's a ManU fan

yeah i've been agonizing over this release for awhile now as well. htfr says november 12th but yesterday they said november 1 so who the fuck knows...

Posted by plaxx on Nov-04-2007 03:03:

Well, it certainly wasn't November 1... fingers crossed for the 12th!

Had a feeling this was Spooky related... those sounds are somewhat in-line with Coma...

Sasha and Digweed at Bonnaroo, or Damian Lazarus' Transitions Guest Mix.

Spooky is a fucking magician. I'm definitely getting the lossless download of this the minute it is released. The vinyl was pushed back to November 26th, but it seems to still not be out really. I wonder what's going on, this track is too good not to be released properly and soon.

Cannot wait!

Posted by woscar on Nov-29-2007 05:08:

Is it going to be released already?

Gimmmeee this fuckkkk

Posted by Clovis on Nov-29-2007 23:35:

I can wait. I have other tracks to play. Plus I've already heard some fantastic DJs do an excellent job with it...

Posted by Generation X on Nov-30-2007 00:55:

My bad, I meant are magicians. Charlie May & Duncan Forbes used Kevlar for this RebelOne bomb. Unfortunately, due to Amato Distribution ending business, the vinyl has a tentative release date of January 1st, 2008 now. It seems many artists/labels may not have released vinyl material in the near future.

However, I can't see much difficulty in labels distributing digital tracks directly themselves for now; to Beatport, TrackItDown, DJDownload at least. Let's hope RebelOne11 comes out digitally soon. Moreover, let's hope Amato can be replaced by some other distributors soon. Their profit margins must've been falling for a while and maybe they were simply trying to do too much, with all of the labels/services they were working with. I think a few distributors can replace one very large one, let's just hope it doesn't take long.

For now, we'll have to wait for this track.

For the January 1st, 2008 release date, I used this site as the source: http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR235088

Posted by Max Thomson on Nov-30-2007 03:01:

HTFR has been giving out false dates for several months now, that date means just as much as the other ones: nothing.

Not to mention HTFR is notorious for scamming people, just check the 'BEWARE OF THESE RECORD STORES' post in the DJ Booth.

Its a shame this release is taking so long :/

Posted by Generation X on Nov-30-2007 03:07:

Well, aside from that website, it's hard to find any online store even listing this vinyl. That aside, with all the DJs who've had this track for months now, I'm surprised it hasn't leaked yet. However, I'm glad. I want to buy this in perfect lossless quality; it deserves to be purchased! Let's just hope we can buy it sooner rather than later...
