TAs and Meetup members @ Opera tonight.

Hi guys,

The people from the ATL Trance Meetup group will be at Opera tonight for Carl Cox. We'll be near the DJ Booth at the outdoors/patio area starting at around 10:30. I'll be there in a V mask, so come on out and say hi!

See ya'll there

Mike

You're in the meet up group? I joined that a while back but couldn't ever really tell if I knew anyone from there (or here).

Wait, are you talking about that email group or something else?

This is what happens when you start drinking at 5PM.

Btw, Charles Barkley was in the back right VIP area. People were shaking his hand while he constantly wore the face. It was hilarious

Also, wtf @ the flying broken wine glasses and drinks last night. What an eventful first night @ Opera...

Cox was great, as expected. Not as good as the previous two times I've seen him, but good nonetheless. The man is a legend.

Opera is horribly mediocre. Weak sound system, relatively poor layout, too many areas closed off for no good reason. I would have liked to taken in the scene from atop that beautiful wrap around balcony--but of course, they have to cater it entirely to the VIP choads. And why was the patio closed? It was a gorgeous evening. It's as if they were intentionally trying to overcrowd the dancefloor. The fog blasts felt good, though.

Exactly! I am definitely NOT going back to Opera for any non-special events. The only reason I'll go back there for the special events is because the big names aren't getting booked in any other places. Too bad Lava can't be big enough to fit a big-name crowd

Again, Carl was great. I just don't like that venue.

That's my concern for Armin, is they close access to half the club. I don't know anyone who actually cares for Opera now that it IS Opera, catering to the generic Gotta Be VIP club ditz crowd.

Maybe this is just a sign I'm really too old for all this shit

I can't stop +1ing. *claps*

However, I do know that the reason they closed off the entire balcony was so it could contain Charles Barkley's magnificence. We don't want that kinda' stuff gettin' outta' hand ya' know.

I wish I could have gone to this show. Alas I was still suffering from jet lag. Too bad all these big names go to Opera.

I am a little disappointed that Armin has to be at Opera. I will make the best of it that I can and hopefully the friends I have coming with will make the show that much better.
