sorry i had to rant. 
He's been a joke for a while now...
I mean, who plays the anthem and then turns around and calls themself the best DJ in the world with a straight face...WHO DOES THAT?

He's lame..i would suggest to keep his mouth shut..all his peace, love and politics crap shot him down to number 4....should focus more on making good music.
He's the reason I got into EDM, but I got bored with him quickly...recent album..and productions...fail.
i've never liked him apart from a few decent tunes years ago. but i've always thought he's a fucking crap dj. but yeah, now he's gone way too far in being crappy though.

I havent heard any of his recent mixes but there are a lot of very good mixes he has put out, eg Amnesia Closing Party.
Up to about 2002 he was good, but then did he ever go downhill fast.
occasionally he shines... there are just fewer and fewer contexts where his music is going to sound good to me.
He does a few bizarre things here and there. But imo he is still one of the best djs by a mile.
2005,2006 and 2007 have seen him go downhill massively in productions and sets. I thought up until 2004 he was still good. He has had some amazing sets over the years though. Being knocked down to #4 may be the best thing to happen to him, here's hoping.

He's done some legendary sets but equally some poor ones. He's still one of the best trance DJs at building longer sets though. His Amnesia cream ones are legendary. Production wise he's always been a one or two trick pony & at times it works, others it doesn't. Doesn't make him any worse than Armin or Tiesto though, who both hit number 1 two years after their peaks.

I like it.
What makes me laugh is people thinking this sort of thing is something new and out of character of him - Are you forgetting remixes and reworks in the past he's done by commercial artists like Aha, Robbie Williams, Alanis Morisette, Madonna, Innercity to just name a few? What's so different now may I ask? This sort of thing has always been apart of PvD. Some people are just fucking blind. Or deluded. Or both; like LoveHate.
His mixing has always been above Armin's and Tiesto's too plus he hasn't enaged in nearly as much 'dj worship' shit as those two.

He has been shit since Mark kicked his ass out of MFS. I mean, just My World and Love Stimulation worth more than everything he has done since 1997
he sets seem to get poorer & poorer nowadays imo, but if you catch him on a good night its 10 times better than AvB or Tiesto can ever do!
