headphone L-R channel balance... any way to test?

Hey,

Is there any way to test whether a given set of cans have proper L-R balance?

I dunno if it's just me, or if this Shure E2c is off balance.

Let's see, I don't know quite what your asking.
If your asking is the output on the headset quieter on one side, then you have to determine whether it's a software or hardware issue. If it's software just adjust the balance in the windows volume mixer. If that doesn't help then it's probably your headset and there might be a wire that is coming loose usually caused by tugging the wire now and then or folding it.

If you are wondering whether there should be distinct sounds coming out on certain sides, adjust the balance in your audio program until it sounds right. If your creating music change the balence on your sounds.

You can always compare what your hearing with a new headset, and if all else fails your hearing might be going bad.
