Anyone has this habbit ?
I am just abedroom Dj but for some reason I love building sets...I ignore BPM's for the most part but put a lot of effort into making the best set I can then after perfecting the set, I get bored and never record it to CD...instead I buy new records and right away start trying to make new sets..
I hope I'm not the only one..
so you're hoping you're not the only one that enjoys DJing, and buys records to play, but doesn't record anything? Sounds like a lot of people.
I was thinking it has to be more than just me..especially since I know I love the music and I know if you are on this site you love the music also..sometimes there is nothing to show or proove by recording a set..just flow...I get vinyl greedy..but geez there is so many good songs out there , it's an addiction

I don't know about you, but every time i do something, I put all my effort into it. I try to express my emotions and feelings through the music and the energy of the music that I play, to try and convey it with the crowd. Otherwise your just some guy who likes a song and is mashing it up with another song that he likes. |
I need to break it

I need to break it |

i do it all the time, but i wouldn't move on to making a different set because i'm bored with the one i've perfected.. i make sure i record it, if i planned on doing so in the beginning. it would defeat the purpose of perfecting the set, if you don't record it. otherwise, there's no need to perfect it.. unless you would rather do a pre-organized set during parties and such, but i prefer to pick out which tracks to play as i go.
I love doing this with new tracks. Last week I bought 20 or so tracks on Beatport, loaded them up in Serato without ever listening to them or keying them or anything like that, and threw together a set. I did click "record" though
I have a little flash recorder, so I nearly always record what I do.
Here it is, I was pretty happy with how it came out. If you like proggy goodness, you might like it:
