Change in attitude..anything more annoying?

Hey,i was just messed up with that annoying situation again and i just couldn't avoid posting!Helps out in the psychology!
Why does the 98% of the people u know,and especially the people u LIKE,change their attitude towards u if someone else is present?
It almost always depends on who's there, but most of the times some people's character changes dramatically...to the WORST..
Any similar situations?hope i'm not alone here!

Years ago I had the same "problem" with people: People I knew and I liked behaved different, when other people were present. Each of them seemed a nice person when I talked to them alone , together in a group they were someties disgusting or let's say at least different.

not always directed at me but i watch people and everyone does it to other people, i just take no notice and be a bastard if someone puts me down

OK, back to topic. I used to have frineds like that, who are really cool with me one minute but then a complete opposite when certain people are around. Not to sound sexist, but it was mainly girls . Anyhoo, I've seperated my close friends from those types of people.

But you have to realize that some people are insecure about themselves so they feel that they have to put up different masks for different people. haha, I learned that in 3rd grade.

So the moral of the stroy is, don't put too many feelings into those type of friends. Make them your aquaintances until they become truthful enough to be themselves around you. Good Luc

The sig was something that i had made for a friend and I just put it up!i didn't think anyone would notice...Thanx for the support here Trancevision,Mos Man and Quickstep!As for the others,the sig is on again,though smaller...(and i don't use it for MY sig!)

you want my answer?

I change my attitude, who i am, depeding on whom i am with.. i do not really know who i am, i just act according to the people I am around.

now, you are wondering why that happens with people you like more than with other people? Well, simply put, it is because the people you like, prolly like you to, so they will lift their 'mask' for you a little when you are alone, and be 'themselves' for a change. When someone else comes around, they are afraid that the person might see who they are and therefore put their mask back on...

sorry for speaking in analogies, but i think you understand what i am trying to say

it's called being fake. it's hard to notice at first but it will always shine through . i'd say 90% of the people in the world are fake. a lot of people on this board are fake too. being fake is OK when it's just more convenient , IE. around the boss or to get some action etc. but people who are fake with their friends or to be cool I have no respect for.

hmm.. i am not sure if we are talking about 100% the same thing (maybe i did not understand completely):

I have friends who are total geeks. When i hang around with them, I am in 'geek' mode. I make geek jokes, talk about computer shit etc.

I have friends that are TA's like you and me.. i talk about trance when we hang out

I have really good friends, that i know for about as long as i can remember, with whom i talk about all of the above, plus more..

i guess i used to be more 'fake' as i have started mixing the topics between groups of friends more, but anyhow.. i think i act differently around different people. Call me fake, but in the end, i am usually the one that sticks up for everybody...

it's hard to describe what being fake means to me, i can't really go into it further without writing an essay... maybe tomorrow after a nap , heh.
