Stanton T60 package
Hi. I'm currently looking for a new DJ package. I was looking at a package from htfr.com. The package is:
2x Stanton T60
1x Behringer VMX200 Mixer
1x Numark headphones (not sure which ones)
What do you think? The package comes to only 300. Is it worth it? Or is it a bag of shit?
bag of shit!
I'm on a real tight budget. I just need some decent decks and a mixer, not too expensive. I thought these decks looked ok but guess not! lol I've read reviews, and it's a mixed bunch.
get http://www.musiciansfriend.com/prod...Pack?sku=804028
What's the difference? The decks are the same. The mixer?
Get something a little better like the T80s. It might cost more but they should last you and be all you need if your not super serious about being a DJ (or a pro one).
Ok, so i've been browsing on ebay. I've found the stanton T80's for 300 a pair. I've also seen a package, which includes headphones and a UREI 1601E mixer. Shall i buy the package with this mixer or but the decks separate and look for a new mixer?
If you can afford 300 on decks go that little extra and hold out for a pair of second hand 1210s. Take your time to find a good deal. You'll be infinitely happier with them.
But my best advice would be to save your cash and purchase some Pioneer CDJs. It'll be cheaper in the long run, you'll spend a fraction purchasing tunes and recoup your money within a few months.
Go for the CDJ200s.
You'll thank me in a years time.
I quite like thos stanton turntables, they look good value for money, but with the t80 you get key lock. Also around that price range are the turntables im currently using, Numark tt1650's which i cant fault, they are good decks.
Everyone on this forum will tell you to avoid behringer mixers like the plague, but ive never used one, so i wouldnt know. You could try the numark dxm01, which is a digital mixer, at around 120 new
Why not try going second hand? I picked up two numark tt1650's, a dxm06 (excellent mixer) and two ortofon pro dj-s cartridges for under 200.

No, these won't be my first decks. I currently own Numark t1625's. I bought them second hand from ebay like 2 years ago. They worked perfectly at first, but one of them doesn't work anymore. Also, the mixer is shit and hardly functions properly. Christmas is coming up, so i'm persuading my mum and dad to buy some for me
It's not like i don't know how to DJ. In those two years i had loads of practice and can do it almost perfectly now.
I can't spend alot though. The budget isn't too high. So i just want a nice set of decks, with a decent mixer. Something that isn't too pricey, functions properly, has the right features and so on for a snall price. So i thought maybe a package would be fine.

Yeah, it's only a hobby.
What's the difference between the Stanton T80's brand new and Technics 1200 mk2's? Probably a dumb question, but i havn't owned technics before and want to know as much as possible before i buy anything.
Also, i have been looking at a mixer. It's the Behringer VMX300 for about 119. I've seen tons of good reviews about it. What do you think of it?
I brought a VMX300 about 4 years ago. I stays in a dusty and damp environment, it's never covered. I took it out to our place in France about 2 years ago. It performs just as well as it did when i first brought it - although as i understand this is not the norm - most of the time they give up.
Buy a 1210 thats 20 years old and it'll perform as well as a 1210 that you brought last year. These things are bullet proof.
Id say 1210's are a good bet as although you'll pay more for them (even second hand), you will get most of your money back if you ever decide to sell it on, so it probably works out cheaper in the long run. Plus i understand they are easier to fix if they ever do go wrong, and you should be ble to get replacement parts easier.
And also, if you ever plan to play out, most clubs will have techs so you will be more familiar with them.

plz tell me why, the reasons why gemini isnt good?
dont waste your money on cheap dj packages unless its just to mess around with mates, but if your serious take a look at some used technics 1200SL they should be pretty cheap on e-bay
i wouldn't buy this. i've had the st-60s and they are not good and i have not heard anything good about behringer mixers.
