Lucien Foort is French (I think) and he is an amazing prog trance dj, he is better than many famouse english djs.

Im french and i can say that there are no good trance producer in France, France is a country corrupted by the radio thats why everybody here (except some tranceaddict) listen to r&b, rap and techno stuff (shit stuff). I live near germany so here we can also listen to german club songs but its sure that in the rest of this country its rare.So we dont have good or known trance producer.
I just know Noemi with the song In my dreams.
Hum i think hiver & hammer arent french!?
France suxx!!!!!!!!!!

yep, i'm french too and frencg people are not very open-mind to other musics...they only hear french artists or artist heard on the radio stations.

Pierre Hiver & M. Hammer <- GERMANS

In't Shane a french producer? At least I know there are some french tunes from Shane ... like Toujours or C'est Musique ... they're not bad.

Isn't Emmanuel Top French? I don't know if anyone here would count him as trance though.
I remember there were some pretty good techno producers in the early 90s. In those days the difference between techno and trance was only beginning to be defined. I think it would be called acid techno, or tech-trance now. Some of it was pure techno. I'm thinking of Laurent Garnier and the stuff on FNAC Dance Division. There was some pretty good stuff.

Karim who produces for Tinrib (and he's an excellent DJ) in London is French, but has been resident in England for many years.

As far as Trance is concerned, the French make some awesome Psychedelic Trance... 3D Vision is one of the best Psy Trance labels in the world and they are based out of France... 3d.vision.free.fr

Artists such as Talamasca, Absolum, Total Eclipse, Yumade, Blue Planet Corporation are all from France.

France is also well known for it's House music...

Emmanuel Top is french yeah, awesome stuff ! Think about Acid Phase or Turkish Bazar, but that's not really trance, more like acid trance.

Did you hear the very nice BBE 2002 Club Mix of Acid Phase btw?

I didn't know that french psy trance label, but I know Total Eclipse among the producers you listed, I used to listen to Total Eclipse stuff a lot back in 1995/96.
How are their productions sounding like now ?

Posted by helm on Apr-29-2002 08:51:

What about Jack de Marseille?

Posted by C-naptik on Apr-29-2002 09:05:

Right, Jack de Marseille is french too, forgot to mention him !
But he plays techno, no trance

Another good french techno producer is Chaotik Ramses

What? I live in Germany and I mostly listen to Dutch or other foreign radio channels, cause here the people's music taste isn't better than in France. Only Hiphop, Techno or cheese Trance. The only good thing left is the "einslive party service" friday night on einslive. But that was it.
