Recording Vocal

Ok so I've been doing a lot of mixing and stuff.
I use FL Studio, Reason, Sony Sound Forge, Cakewalk SONAR 7, M-Audio pro tools M-Powered, and a bunch more software based sound generators. What I want to do is get some vocals, I have a 8-Channel Peavey XRD 680 power mixer.

So the question is what equipment is necessary to record and transfer production quality sound to my computer for editing. Mics, mixers, anything to get me what I want. Thanks.

Wish i could help you, but you might want to take this to the producers forum, because it sounds like that kind of issue.
