welcome home bud! looking forward to catching up tonight

Posted by tathi on Nov-09-2007 01:10:

thanks guys, it feels incredibly bizzare being back after a year in south america, major reverse culture shock, (i feel like a foreigner???) i miss hearing spanish all around me all the time and it feels wierd having to talk in english all the time, i sometimes get mixed up and start sentences in spanish and then change to english when i get wierd looks

just seeing the harbour bridge and opera house through the plane made me realise how much i've missed Sydney and how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful city in such a lucky country a world away from the poverty, misery, corruption, and chaos of the third world. routine is starting to step in and after a few days here im already craving the unpredictable lifestyle of the open road. oh and my credit card isn't very healthy after it worked up 8thousand dollars of debt in colombia and cuba no regrets though

good to be back! ill see some of you tonight

ps. photos on there way

Posted by PauLie_C on Nov-09-2007 01:19:

hahaha i was talking about your whole spiel on Sydney

Posted by tathi on Nov-09-2007 01:41:

oh i realised that, you just need to go to BA, Medellin, and Bogota to put nightlife / culture and melborne / sydney into perspective

only way to learn is to start speaking and practicing, you will be fine the majority of travellers can't even count to ten in spanish
