Is the currency exchange rate going to effect your travel plans?

1.00 EUR = 1.46752 USD

Was looking forward to a nice trip to europe next year but now not not so sure.

Anybody else in doubt too? This is getting ridiculous!!

I had my friend from Germany visit me a couple years ago and asked me to change his Euro to $. Lucky I held on to about 1K Euro to date.

But you are correct. I just got back from Seoul, Korea and the Korean won is now stronger than the $. It was 1 to 1 just earlier this year.

Time to buy Canadian $

It's good that I only plan to travel within the mainland US next year and just done my Nice-Ibiza-Barcelona trip last September. Hopefully, the US dollar stabilizes asap since I already have plans to go to Brazil/Argentina/Chile in 2009.

Or might just move to the UK

I'm stoked that the ZAR (South African Rand) stays very weak to the American dollar. Everytime I go back to South Africa I live like a king, especially when it comes to ordering rounds of drinks over and over at bars.

1.00 USD = 6.51249 ZAR

We're planning on going to Ibiza next September though and I'm hoping that we won't get raped hard by the exchange rate.

My friend just visited from England and he couldn't believe how far the US dollar had fallen. He was living like a king out here!

was in europe in august

100 euros was 140 bucks... so around 1.4 exchange rate... it sucked.

last year that i went it was 100 euros for 130 dollars and that was rough.

I'm still thinking about going in December, and the exchange rate is killing me.

Ugh, the dollar is just getting worse and worse... and no end in sight.

Europeans must be investing in the US Capital Markets like crazy.

We'll see more Big European Companies opening shop here in the States. Pretty soon they'll be looking at us like a country with sweat shops.

Kinding aside, a lot of European countries have problems looming over them in the near future. France is practically bankcrupt and Germany is not to far away.

China is laying back watching and Laughing their Asses Off. I am VERY concerned about the Future of the American Dollar. It might be worth nothing VERY soon.

I was gonna go to see the UK next year, but until the exchange rates are better I'm going to Hong Kong.

I'm far from an economic expert, but it's my understanding the weaker dollar was an intentional Bush poilicy plan to encourage the rest of the world, namely the EU, to buy more US exports. I think it got out of hand, though. Good one, Bush.

The other thing that's not known to many is that the US Govt started printing Billions of Dollars six years ago with nothing to back it up.
