what ever happened to goldenscan

first heard these guys on galaxy 101 show live @ distortion in leeds.

probably one of the finest trance sets ive heard.

ive downloaded a lot of their mixes but over the past 2-3 years theyve been non-existent.
the website seems to be under construction for a lifetime, apart from a couple of months back when they had a couple of promo mixes available for download.

but where have they gone.

these guys were class dj's & producers.

Goldenscan were ace. I really liked Ascension and Apacha. Both very underrated tracks.
I used to have Tom from Goldenscan on my msn. Haven't seen him online for ages.
Hope they haven't quit.

i remember chatting with one of the guys from goldenscan some years ago.
i remember him complaining that there's not enough money to be made in trance anymore as no one buys compilations as people just download everything or something like that.
so maybe they quit, because they didn't get enough money?

Tom is a member here, used to talk to him regularly back when TAW was up & running. Nice guy who enjoyed his parties from all accounts.

I wonder if they ever credited Electric Light Orchestra for the sample they used on Sunrise.

I doubt ELO really give that much of a shit about the royalties they could be getting from a minor trance act.

'Only with you' was one of the tracks that made me really appreciate Trance music and I haven't heard a production from them I haven't liked. Still a great track.

Only With You, Of Our Times, Ascension, their remix of This Time I rise, some great tunes right there.
