dooooo it
I have a vintage (late 80's ) turbosound system like the early rave systems in my basement , I have been restoring it for the last 3 years and will post pics when it is finished (soon) I can't wait to turn it on and fire up the beats hopefully I will have the amps soon (vintage bryston amps as used by Shorty gsa phazon and all the other nyc sound systems back in the day)

when i walked into the main room at the beginning of the night and saw this:

i knew this night would be great...
and what a night it was. brought it back old school in my books. the vibe on saturday night was purely a 100% happy party vibe. house music from top to bottom.
loved how the main room ceiling lighting system was set up like sonic.... the disco ball.... the "arms" of flashing lights.... perfect for the atmosphere.
I pretty much followed my "plan of action" did a wander for a bit- checked out brad in the "upper level"... he had a nice bumping smooth sound going for the beginning of the night...
then back to button. mr. jeff button. you kicked it up a notch just like you said you would man. great tunes and a great group of people dancing it up.
hector was all right.... but danny torrance was were it was at for the next while. until satoshi came on-
i've been waiting a long time to see him play- and he delivered. such a smooth playing dj- so focused- dropping each tune like it was no work at all. did a lot of wandering because had to check out morales as well.
all and all- great night- amazing friends- amazing tunes- i hope that the docks...err... sound acadamy pulls of more nights like this is the future....
so after waiting in the main line for 20 minutes to only find out that we were in the wrong place, we headed over to another line to get an envelope which had our reduced passes in it. then we went to another line to get searched again. after all this we finally got in and it was definately worth the wait.
i found the vibe in the solarium to be the best, but the music in the main room couldn't be beat. danny torrence was amazing (especially the 2nd half of his set). and morales picked up right where he left off. his set was very similar to the pacha set that he played last month. i just wish the tribal portions of his set were much longer. the new sound system in the main room sounds very good. i don't mean to complain, but it was a little too loud in the beginning of the night. i had earplugs in at one point and it was still hurting my ears. around 3ish the volume seemed to be lowered and it was perfect after that.
i enjoyed hector and satoshi, but i just couldn't get into it. i absolutely love the stuff they play, but not necessarily in a club. a little too chill for me but i would love it if it was recorded so i could listen to the full thing at home.
all in all a great night. i have to agree with everyone that the vibe was very similar to the vibe at sonic.
