looking for a partner!

Im in a bit of a bind. I can write songs and get the vision out on my FL studio. THe problem is...FL sucks....i have a crap sound card...and my budget.....well...its as progressive as a tribal track. I need a partner to when it comes to Mastering. I could do it myself but its gonna take alot of time and im sick of waiting around for all the gear i need. I have no desire for acclaim or credit on the track...i just need to know its gettin out to the clubs! Im dead serious so please, serious responses only. Im aiming sky high! To hear a sample of where im at...PM or IM me (AIM = djeternal1883). thx!

Please leave right now. Don't blame it on the program, blame the producer!

Please leave right now. Don't blame it on the lack of gear, blame it on your lazy ass.

You say FL sucks... on this forum, you better give a pretty bleeping good reason why before you spout off a comment like that.

You need a partner when it comes to mastering? No offense, but mastering is more of a client/business relationship: there are numerous outlets you can find on the web for mastering? You can even drop off your tracks off at the Vengeance website (http://www.vengeance-mastering.com/) for a fee, of course. THere are dozens of other web-based outlets to solve your problem.

Mastering is not to be taken lightly... you claim that you can master, and yet you know nothing about FL Studio. If you can master, why don't you have better tools designed specifically for mastering. Finally, why would you be mastering your own tracks for Pete's Sake!?!? Ludicrous!

You also say that you are sick of waiting around for all the "gear" you need. 'Gas' (Gear Acquisition Syndrom) is not the cocoon state that makes a producer. Get a job if you don't think you have all the tools you need. I got myself a better job before I re-enrolled in college... I ended up staying with FL, and purchasing monitors instead...

Let's hear some of your stellar tracks made with crappy programs...

Damn, man! You beat me to it! I thought the exact same thing--maybe a different site...

Hahah, thats quite good actually, didn't make perfect sense in this context, but with an election around the corner here I think I can get some use out of it

The rest of you should stop knocking the guy over his difficulties, Fruity obviously doesn't suit him, so he's looking for a production partner, the soundcard and speakers you have do make a difference to the quality you can get out of a track, as does whether you like the program your using.

Back on topic, I don't use FL mate, but just keep at it eventually you'll get stuff your happy with. The program you're working with isn't the biggest limitation, but obviously its harder if you don't have good monitoring equipment, eventually you'll work out the characteristics of your system, just keep at it

FL is more than adequate for any half competent producer to make good tracks with, if you cant do it in FL then you might aswell give up

No it isn't. FL can do everything any other DAW can.
Blaming your tools for your own lack of skill is piss weak!

Yada yada. What's wrong with saying a daw is bad? Isn't any person entitled to his own opinion? I actually started making better music in a short ammount of time because I changed my tools. Why wouldn't it be his DAW that is holding him back? I can surely understand it could be.

I wish the stupid repeating of all this nonsense would just stop.

Would the first thing a sane person would say: "Why don't you try something else then?". Or at least, that is what this forum is meant for. Unless your dick is called Fruity loops/FLStudio I don't see why you act like his opinion makes you impotent.

Posted by farris on Nov-14-2007 00:18:

Sure he's entitled to his own opinion, there is a line though between saying "I think FL sucks" and "FL sucks". On the other hand I don't understand people when someone says anything bad about 'their' DAW. Just ignore the f.u.c.k. out of them and get on with your life.
Apparantly nothing you say will change their minds. Either the DAW just doesn't fit their way of thinking and need to take a serious look at the other options or they're not competent enough and just fail life alltogether.

I was waiting for someone to say that, but we're intelligent enough to interpret that as his opinion . Or am thinking to highly of the people TA attracts?

If I did that then I wouldn't have been on this forum anymore hehe. Some more moderation would help solve these piles of crappy topics. I volunteer .

Posted by B_man on Nov-14-2007 00:37:

I can think of one downside of FL... no Mac support... some people think that sucks.

Dunno. How about an 'Internationale TA IQ-test'

There are supposed to be 2 moderators for this section. I see Allied Nations pop in every once in a while. Haven't seen Luke Terry here in ages and according to this post things aren't going to be different. I suggest you PM Allied Nations or Swamper and let them know your ambition. Some moderation would be nice, as long as it's not a nazi who goes on banning and closing each and every thread HE doesn't like. Give it a shot man!

well then i should give up

i tried fruity loops about 2 years ago and couldn't get to the grips with it but with cubase i adapted to it instantly.

because it is. how can you justify saying if you can't use fruity loops you might as well give up. i know alot of producers that look at fruity loops and be totally lost. im the same. different people adapt to different sequencers.

That's exactly why you're wrong. And the fact that you're still posting here, right after that post makes it even worse.

Posted by Ry Thomas on Nov-14-2007 19:22:

Barry - Ok so the 'give up' bit was a little far fetched, i apologise.
