can you suggest any good ones? and where can i find these so called "AVI players"

Well, Windows Media Player should be able to do it. Try to download the latest version here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/wi...oad/default.asp

If that doesn't work, try to find some 3rd-party programs. Good luck!

well, i dont no about Windows Media player. Because most of the time imho, if its by microsoft its gotta be pretty poor. But Realplayer is pretty good. You can pick up either a beta/demo version of RealOne, or I could give u a link where you could download a totally legitimate *cough* full version of RealOne.

You will need a codec to correctly view .avi format files. Try http://www.divx.com.

yea that is true,

But most decent players have it built in, buy I thought that was just for VCD/SVCD compressed avi's???

Theres a (s)vcd codec and also a divx codec. Divx codecs are coming out with new versions every now and then since it is a relatively new codec and improvements are being made to it often. I would suggest getting the latest one, I believe it is version 5.
