New Years Eve 2008 Los Angeles!

I am making the trip from Toronto to LA for New Years.

Trying to research the parties and was hoping some of you would have more information to help a fellow TA.

So far I have found (that have interested me):

Giant Maximum Downtown LA
Tiesto, Roger Sanchez (4 hour set), MSTRKRFT, Kaskade,

Together As One LA Sports Arena
Sasha & Digweed, Ferry Corsten, More TBA

HARD New Years Eve Music Festival Downtown LA
Justice, Peaches, 2 Live Crew, Steve Aoki, DJ A-Track,

The Future is Now Avalon Hollywood, LA
Gabriel & Dresden, More TBA

Does anyone know of any other big DJs or parties taking place on December 31, 2007?

Thanks!

does LA need more?
Shit, bring some of that to Norcal.

not sure of any other parties, Giant and Avalon are 21+ and i think Together As One is either all ages or 18+ fyi.

Will be present at GIANT!

Monkey Dancer 2

Giant rocks from the look of that line up.

Add Robbie Rivera to Giant's lineup and Deadmau5 to TAO's

Also traffic events are whipping up something at the Roosevelt Hotel. They had a sold out event recently for Halloween.

the only advise I can have for an out-of-towner is HAVE A BACKUP PLAN! and get there EARLY! you have never experienced LA traffic.

A few years back it rained on NYE, so all the outside crowd from GIANT, came over to T.A.O. ... and it became WAY TOO CROWDED!!!

DJ Reza
Barry Weaver

AK 1200

Just be prepared to be horribly disappointed with the production unless the organizers who throw TAO actually give the production a decent budget.

But then again, look at it from their side. If people are gonna come no matter what and they keep coming, why not make the move just to save the money you could spend on making a better production and pocket it, lol.

Sucks from our side, but nothing but a good thing from theirs lol.

I've never had issues with Digital Cameras at TAO, MM, etc (parties run by the organizers), but yeah...if you have an open box of cigs when you are searched, they make you throw it away. It totally skipped my mind and while waiting in line that I wasn't even sure was the right one at MM last year and since the line wasn't moving, I opened my pack up and lit one up...just for me to decide to do a little looking around to see if I was in the wrong line and it turned out I was...guestlist booth had ZERO people at it and got my tickets and we were able to walk right in within a minute of me lighting up my cig and then ended up being forced to throw my oh so good taste menthol djarums away. Talk about a bummer moment lol. I need my cigs with my alcohol damnit! lol

So yeah, don't open your pack!

Thanks for the replies!

There are definitely enough parties going on in LA. Now it is just about deciding which one to hit. I have to decide between Together As One and Giant Maximum.

Any thoughts on the venue, scene, etc from anyone who has been to TaO or Giant in past years?

Posted by voodoomagic on Nov-22-2007 21:28:

How come on the TAO website it says that the event is all ages, but on the Insomniac site it says 18+. Does anyone know which one it is?

oh and does anyone know how sasha and digweed spins? as compared to like ferry or anyone. similarities?

Your age should be the deciding factor, unless you really love one of the DJ's.
