Plastikman - Nostalgia 3 [M_nus]

01. Spastik (Dubfire Rework)
02. Panikattack (Second Attack Remix)

Released on Beatport today. Another ground-breaking production from Dubfire!!!!

I think the Second Attack remix of panikattack is good, probably because the guy who remixed it is named "Guido"

Guido Schneiders remix is bomb.

is it just me or does the dubfire rework sound A LOT like his remix of float away?

lol come on dubfire, put some more effort into it instead of just recycling the same exact sounds already

I had nothing against Dubfire nor his recent productions until this.

Success!

Spastik is a tune that I thought no one should ever try and remix.

This doesn't change that opinion.

Schneider remix is not too bad, but 2 fuckin years to release it?

Posted by ballmouse on Nov-16-2007 22:25:

I'm surprised ANYONE even has tried to remix Spastik.

Dubfire needs to be taken out back and shot, Old Yeller-style. Seriously, it's totally unnecessary and sounds like utter shit. He's done.

Schneiders mix isn't anything too special. Funny thing is that I just started spinning the original of Panikattack again over the last few weeks. Perfect timing.

a classic piece of techno that should have never been touched.

If the dedication and effort that was once put into plastikman material is not going to be repeated, then it should be left as is. Why mess up a good thing?

Posted by mphreak on Nov-17-2007 18:19:

Dubfire's studio should be bombed with something to prevent destroying classics of electronic music. I have nothing against him making his shitty music, but destroying classics is different thing. Dubfire, please stop!

Posted by nchs09 on Nov-19-2007 13:28:

was listening to the sample and sounds pretty much the same as the original... plus a few tweaks...

i still the original better though, as poeple have said... should not be messed with!

Posted by rory21 on Nov-19-2007 15:20:

Maybe Dubfire should just stop releasing all his reworks? To hear a slightly tweaked version in his livesets is great but to have them all released is a bit suspect?

why richie allowed this to happen is a mystery to me

Posted by nefardec on Nov-19-2007 18:20:

reminds me of that track mojado - naranja except not as sweet

wow. wtf.

Here is my take on it...

Dubfire is a great producer. Only problem I have with him is that while most of his productions are good, they all pretty much keep the same formula. There is no exception with this remix either. For me, Spastik goes down in the same category as tracks like Xpander or Heaven Scent. If you are going to remix it, make sure it is damn good and exceptional when compared to your every day track. Again, all he did with this remix is make it sound like another Dubfire track/remix and brought nothing new to the table. This remix is good but the track remixed is a timeless piece of music, which to me set's the standards higher for remixing.

it's now the beatport nr 1! i thought the dubfire remix of the meat katie & d ramirez tune was decent but this is just unnecessary!
