How many words?

Posted by jupiterone on Nov-16-2007 01:09:

Did you tip afterwards?

Posted by Silky Johnson on Nov-16-2007 01:09:

Negro please. This time last year I'd already written 3 major papers.

Posted by Ygrene on Nov-16-2007 01:14:

Yeah....papers on YOUR FACE!!

Posted by Krypton on Nov-16-2007 03:44:

How many words? My largest paper so far 1.5 years is 4300 words on "human factors in technology". BOOOOORRRRRRINNNGGGGGG....

I always give myself rewards for finished sections of a paper, or the entire thing. Mary Jane helps get those papers done quick!

wait till you have to do (if ever) a paper you have to submit for publication... now THAT is a pain in the ass.

Lol, what is that, 12 pages? You can't even say anything worth saying in 12 pages. That's well below the average length of the papers I had to write as an undergrad.

My longest was apparently 16,204 words. "Marxism, Ethnicity, and Diamonds: Competing Discourses on Civil War in Angola (1975-2002)"

'Twas a fun one.

Posted by tubularbills on Nov-16-2007 04:40:

congrats. now go enjoy life once again

Awesome, but they cram like 4-5 papers into a 5 week long class.

But that topic sounds like something I'de have fun writing. If I had the time...

Depending on the topic, 12 pages can be quite a bit. No teacher wants you dragging it on.

but if they need you to be thorough...

I think of guidelines as more along the lines of recommendations.

If you know how to write, and know how to explain something well, I don't think 40 pages is THAT necessary. I've had some proposals for work that have been that long but school work? Never.

my thesis was about 16 pages long....but that also included about 4 pages of pics/graphs/images. then again, my study was more technical...so it was , "here's what i did, here's the results" kind of paper.
