FAO: girls (or anybody) who are prone to greasy/oily hair.

I finally tried something a friend told me about, to take away that awful greasy sheen of unwashed hair.

Before you say, "Uh, just wash it?", I should note that my hair dresser uses a "demi" color on my hair, meaning it's not permanent. Also, it's a very rich, vibrant red...and most people know that red fades like a bitch.

So to prevent my hair color from turning really dull really fast, I refrain from washing it...which of course leaves it greasy as fuck.

So now onto the simple solution of the ages:

TALCUM POWDER!!!

Yes that's right. Good old talcum powder. A friend of mine told me to do this a while ago, and swore by it...but I never got around to trying it until today.

And well, it works awesome!! All I did was just shake it all through my hair and then comb it through. It absorbed all the oil and none of the shine! You wouldn't even know I hadn't washed my hair in 2 days...it looks as fresh as the day I got it done!

And no, it doesn't smell. I actually used a really nice scented talc from Avon!

So uh, yeah. That's my beauty tip of the day for you ladies out there...or anyone else with greasy hair.

Bye!

I think you missed the point. And I'm not even going to get into a lesson about resident flora on the hair follicles and the pros and cons of washing/not washing one's hair, etc. Trod along now.

Stop trying so hard.

Isn't sonix that black robot dude from the Carl Cox thread in MD?

Posted by bas on Nov-16-2007 03:14:

Uhh...ok.

I just know that you don't need to wash (that's shampoo/condition) your hair everyday. Maybe you need to wash that nappy steel wool you call hair, but I'm ok.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Nov-16-2007 03:14:

Holy fuck sonix, you're single handedly ruining my thread. Take a hint from the way things went down in that Carl Cox thread and fuck off.

Posted by eROs.au on Nov-16-2007 03:17:

I'm guessing Canadian postal workers saw seeds and decided they were drugs.

yeah sonix, unless you're jake benson don't argue with a girl about hair.

its like a girl arguing about how to control a motor vehicle.

You honestly wash your hair everyday? Washing it that much damages the scalp and hair folicles and stunts the growth. If you want it to look like something out of DragonballZ then you shouldn't be washing it everyday.

And why are you worried about bacteria? Are you eating your hair?

see, home-grown asians are fine. its the imports that aren't used to western systems (ie actually having laws that govern rules on the road). they piss me off; but since they bring their stunning daughters to our countries, i can't really be too mad.

awwww grace, when shall we be married?

i'm going to go out on a limb and predict that this thread will get locked and make someone cry.

That line would have been better in the tree-dude thread.

ok, by your logic, let's not shower either. water damages skin.

This is great, I don't even have to say anything to make you seem like an ignorant zipper head.
