Burning Cd's
For burning CD's, is there any program that I should use or any particular speeds that I should select for "optimum" quality or anything?
i use nero and u should really be burning cds at the slowest speed possible.
I also use Nero.
i decode them to wav using lame and then burn them @ 12X speed, works really good for me.
I use Nero and burn them at the fastest speed possible. Doesn't make a difference.
Nero is one of the best programs out there!
Nero here
Nero 6. I decided I didn't want to wait forever for a CD, so I think I burn around 16 or 12x (drive supports up to 24x).
My drive sometimes has problems reading data CDs I burn, so I scale back the speed.
Toast 8
nero 4x
do you think using one software ends up with a better quality burn than another? i know if you use some shabby software that's buggy it can be an issue. but other than that, it shouldn't really make a difference to my understanding?
Does having a good soundcard make a difference when burning?
I use Toast 8 at Maximum speed. No problems.

As far as I know, software shouldn't make too big of a difference, provided that it can burn correctly.
However, there are different types of CDs, each with their own burning profile. I'm talking about more low-level than just CD-R, CD-RW, etc. The different profiles depend on the manufacturer, the type of dye used in the disc, and a variety of other variables.
Good burning software will have the right profiles available for each type of CDs.
** Most of this is based on information collected through casually skimming through articles that touch on this nature. Perhaps someone could elaborate further/expand on the details.
I use Nero 8 and Burn at 48x
Only had one dodgy burn out of maybe 400.

people usually only run into software problems with burning programs when they pirate them. I know a lot of them will mess up your burnt cd if a pirated serial is detected.
I use Nero version 7.
sound cards won't make any difference to you burning. you can have no sound card at all for that matter... all you are doing is burning data to a cd.
i gots nero 8, works a treat.
usually burn at 24 speed no probs.
Just don't burn at 48x otherwise you may get glitches
Should I enable "No Pause Between Tracks" in Nero 8?
i hate burning fucking cd's, labeling and then organizing them. It takes too much freaking time
But yea i use nero 8 also
oh and i see no point in enabling no pause between tracks since you are a dj
no pause is good when you lets say play a cd on your walkman

I've always wondered this too esp since Nero has gotten so bloated lately. I just decode w/ lame (unless I buy the WAV) then use Nero and burn at the lowest possible speed which is usually 4x.
In Nero, is it better to use "Disc-At-Once" or "Track-At-Once"? Keep in mind I'm burning CD's to play on CDJ's.
