Legendary night.
So how did that "backwards" dj set up work out ? I suppose the people in the balcony couldn't see the dj very well ...

| Originally posted by 72hrpartyanimal it was different, which made it pretty cool... the only thing which i personally liked about the reverse set up was that the booth was a little lower and you felt a little closer/connected with the DJ (imo)... otherwise i prefer the original way... the visuals on one side and the dj on the other side seemed to confuse a lot of the people (ie. washers) but... like i said... its change is good... it was different... something new... great for that night! |
i agree with billy, at first when i got there i was like wtf? the flow from the bar and the people watching laurent was kinda a pain at first but then it cleared out a little and it was fine. i loved that there was way more dj interaction with the crowd!!! reminds me of the circus dj booth, down with the people.
Other than just to change things up, was there more as to why?
Just seems like with that setup far fewer people (balcon excluded) can get a view of the DJ. Although I am guessing it's a perception issue since you have walls on all sides making it feel more closed in. But I dunno.
The DJ booth location looks like a good idea to me.

Booths like at 1015, Slide and Circus make the experience so much better IMO.
euwwwwwwww the one pic of me looks terrible.
I really liked the setup like that, the DJ felt much more connected to the club, and for Garnier it made all the difference. Yeah the traffic to the bar areas was bad but its almost always a cluster-fuck around there on packed nights anyway...
