Posted by Moral Hazard on Nov-22-2007 20:23:

I was in Arizona all last week!
Sedona is a cool little town. I want to go back. BTW... don't get suckered into going to Jerrome... big waste of time.

some pics from the room. my camera doesnt do it justice, the dark brown on the cliffs is actually a deep red.
there's a smell in the air too, almost like it's perfumed.
awesome.

Be careful...the hills have eyes.

Deserts are the prettiest.

Set your shutter speed to 1/1250... I found that really picks up the red, especially in late afternoon.

Also, there is a hiking trail around Courthouse and Bell Rock, it's about an hour hike and offers some spectacular photo vantage points. Hopefully I'll be able to post some of my pics next week (haven't had time to upload them yet).

If you have time today, check out Tlaquepaque... cool shit there.

BTW... based on the view you have from your room it looks like I was staying just up the street from where you are... you're on or just off Bell Rock Blvd. aren't you?

It's amazing how much beauty and variety can be found within our own borders. I really, really should travel more.

Nice pictures!

I was, however, expecting to open this thread and find a 'went-out-partying-last-night-in-Philly/woke-up-hungover-this-morning-in-Arizona' story.

I think it's ever so cute that they managed to match the interior dcor to the rugged outdoors. Those sly cats!

Love

You should Rob a bank and fall in love with a hooker with a heart of gold.

I know you love RJT and all that, but to capitalize a verb just because it doubles coincidentally as his name is plain weird. Weird!

Posted by kadomony on Nov-23-2007 16:19:

haha thanks for the tips guys!

Moral Hazard, I'm on Ridge Trail Dr.
My camera is just a basic point and shoot so no shutter adjustment. Maybe I can find some auto setting on there that would give the same effect. Gonna check out the places you mentioned.

Ygrene, I actually messaged some of my friends like that.
"DUDE I'M IN ARIZONA! HOW THE FUCK DID I GET HERE?!"

Posted by kadomony on Nov-24-2007 02:52:

Checked out Tlaquepaque. Cool place and got a few things.
Then headed over to the town to browse the shops, checked out the vortex at Airport Mesa and went to dinner.

Tomorrow: Cathedral Rock and Grand Canyon!

have fun at the grand canyon. I only spent an hour there (helicopter tour from Veags) last year, but it's breathtaking to see in person
