Dunno

Which friends are you explaining it to?

Your non-internets friends, or your internets friends?

I hope it's easy to explain to your internets friends that you do indeed have OTHER internets friends, too.

As for all your non-internets friends... hmm, maybe beg off telling them that little tasty tidbit in so many words and instead say you have friends that enjoy an active and healthy virtual existence that involves a lot of written communication in lieu of verbal communication.

Had to do this years ago, not to strangers but to other friends. They asked why I would bother meeting people on line rather than in person.

Simple: common bond. I like music, you like music, maybe we also share other interests?

Social networking has come along and changed the game. Now people are socializing for the sake of socialing, with no real bond.

Tell them you are from the future. That always works.

Why should it be difficult to simply say "All my friends are from the internet"?

Hahah, I say that sometimes.

God, honestly...what's the big deal?? Why the need to lie about it or feel embarrassed??

Just be fucking real with people, who gives a shit what they think. Jesus.

Uhhh, I guess it's diffeerent for certain people. My parents do not understand the internets, and don't realize that you can make actual "IRL" friends. They would freak out if they had any idea of how many people I've met that I first knew online.

I am not embarrassed to tell my friends that I met people on the internet because they are more likely to understand.

Posted by UmmiE on Nov-23-2007 00:19:

If people make fun of you that you have online friends just simply tell them " Go and Suck on Monkeys Nipple " right after that " Welcome to 2007(or 2008 if you wana make it sound more kool)

Again, so what? Whose rules do you live by?
