Best movies of 2007?

I got to thinking about this today...

If you were the Academy, what would you nominate?

Eastern Promises
The Painted Veil
No Country for Old Men

Aaron Sorkin has a movie coming out (Charlie Wilson's War) that might be a good nomination. And there's a couple that Ive heard good things about but haven't seen...

And what about the Kite Runner? Can they nominate a film that was never released?

Just saw this yesterday. Wow. I have never seen a movie that was so beautifully put together. The Cohen brothers put together a masterpiece.

There is so much I want to say about the movie... but I wont until you (or others) see it.

Big thumbs up on this.

I could have done with a little less gore... however... Eastern Promises was SO much worse about it. I just think its unnecessary. We know whats happening, do you have to SHOW us whats happening?
