Question Clubs/DJs in HK?

Fellow TAs,

Figured this is as good a place as any to ask, but I'm going with a few mates to Hong Kong and Macau from the 4th-17th of February(during CNY). Sure, its like 2 months away, but I'm wondering if anybody knows any good clubs or DJs that'll be playing during the time I'm there.

Thanks.

Hong Kong is my hometown, the club sense in Hong Kong will disappointing you which i have already given up. No one got any idea about music and dance. It was a pretty good time back to 2000, couple of party held with PVD, Armin, Sasha, Coxy etc. These superstars are not really feel like to go to HK again for some reasons, due to shit crowds, not much appreciate and police might stop the music and light on for license check(True, i witnessed this shit even with pvd and scott project. pvd just no idea what is happening.)
<http://youtube.com/watch?v=IT_9Czj4mec> I assume this video was PVD back to some years time and i was there.

I have been to HK last year during the Chinese new year. I attended one party played by Ronski Speed, Luke Chable and Phil K. Most of the crowds are just smash up themselves until they can't move, then sitting in the middle the ground. The music and setting were not badt but the crowds just showed they were not much appreciate. Peoples like some 150bpm canton pop hard dance or some formulated R&B which its the worst thing i can tell.

Lan Kwai Fong in Central is the only place to be for some decentpub & club. http://www.hkclubbing.com is the information you have to know. Don't waste your time in HK for club, save up your time for food and shopping. Audio, computer equipment is way cheaper in Au. CDJ1000 MK3 costs about 1200aud in HK. Its welcome to ask me anything about HK.

yeah my china promoter mate told me that basically cops would stop the music search everyone and even drug test people in a bit to crack down on the drugs etc in the clubs, and by the time the music would be able to play again, most people were over it and wanted to leave, because of these sorts of things happening, basically the scene has disappeared.

yeah :P

Er.. you serious? What am I supposed to do every night while i'm there then?

Gay.. I was hoping for something decent I guess. Didn't think it'd be that bad. Thanks for the website at least. Will give me at least an idea or two.

But won't be expecting anything decent at least.

Lol I've been to Hong Kong a few times and 150bpm Canto Pop or Jap Pop is nothing to be laughed at. Unless you're a rabbit on speed.

try Yumla (www.yumla.com for line ups etc)
Best bar in HK with an amazing sound system. Run by producer Dan F and Simon Blackjack (who used to put on all the big parties in HK when it was under british rule). Small but great place to drink with an outdoor area. Everything from tech to breaks, spent many a night there last year.
